TL;DR: An energy emulation tool that allows developers to estimate the energy use for their mobile apps on their development workstation itself and scale the emulated resources including the processing speed and network characteristics to match the app behavior to that on a real mobile device.
Abstract: Battery life is a critical performance and user experience metric on mobile devices. However, it is difficult for app developers to measure the energy used by their apps, and to explore how energy use might change with conditions that vary outside of the developer's control such as network congestion, choice of mobile operator, and user settings for screen brightness. We present an energy emulation tool that allows developers to estimate the energy use for their mobile apps on their development workstation itself. The proposed techniques scale the emulated resources including the processing speed and network characteristics to match the app behavior to that on a real mobile device. We also enable exploring multiple operating conditions that the developers cannot easily reproduce in their lab. The estimation of energy relies on power models for various components, and we also add new power models for components not modeled in prior works such as AMOLED displays. We also present a prototype implementation of this tool and evaluate it through comparisons with real device energy measurements.

TL;DR: The recycling of catalyst particles after the quantitative reduction of 4-nitrophenol and the recovery of gold nanoparticles with unaffected particle morphology from the resin-bound gold nanoparticle entity have been reported.
Abstract: The immobilization of gold nanoparticles in anion exchange resin and their quantitative retrieval by means of a cationic surfactant, cetylpyridinium chloride, is studied. The resin-bound gold nanoparticles (R−Au) have been used successfully as a solid-phase catalyst for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol by sodium borohydride. At the end of the reaction, the solid matrix remains activated and separated from the product. The recycling of catalyst particles after the quantitative reduction of 4-nitrophenol and the recovery of gold nanoparticles with unaffected particle morphology from the resin-bound gold nanoparticle entity have been reported.

TL;DR: In this paper, the suitability of the energy density to represent the energy transferred to the process parameters was analyzed for the selective laser melting process, and the authors showed that the energy densities can be used to estimate the amount of energy transferred.
Abstract: The effective fabrication of materials using selective laser melting depends on the process parameters. Here, we analyse the suitability of the energy density to represent the energy transferred to...

TL;DR: In this paper, coal fly ash was used to synthesize X-type zeolite by alkali fusion followed by hydrothermal treatment and the maximum surface area of the product was found to be 383 m2/g with high purity.
Abstract: Coal fly ash was used to synthesize X-type zeolite by alkali fusion followed by hydrothermal treatment. The synthesized zeolite was characterized using various techniques such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, BET method for surface area measurement etc. The synthesis conditions were optimized to obtain highly crystalline zeolite with maximum BET surface area. The maximum surface area of the product was found to be 383 m2/g with high purity. The crystallinity of the prepared zeolite was found to change with fusion temperature and a maximum value was obtained at 823 K. The cost of synthesized zeolite was estimated to be almost one-fifth of that of commercial 13X zeolite available in the market.

TL;DR: The various continuous-time approaches to system identification are outlined by drawing attention to some earlier surveys, books and monographs and by highlighting certain recent approaches by discussing possibilities of inclusion of some of the techniques in standard computer program packages for general and real-time applications.
