TL;DR: Two new stilbene tetramers, grandiphenols A (1) and B (2), along with ten known stilbenzene oligomers and bergenin were isolated from the stem of Dipterocarpus grandiflorus as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: Two new stilbene tetramers, grandiphenols A (1) and B (2), along with ten known stilbene oligomers and bergenin were isolated from the stem of Dipterocarpus grandiflorus. The structures of 1 and 2 composed of four resveratrol (=5-[(1E)-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethenyl]benzene-1,3-diol) units had eight asymmetric C-atoms in the partial structures of a tetrahydrofuran and two dihydrobenzofuran moieties. Detailed spectroscopic analyses, especially HMBC and NOESY experiments, allowed to differentiate the configurations of 1 and 2.

TL;DR: In this contribution, the recent studies on anti-photoaging properties of extracts and bioactive compounds derived from seaweeds were described and discussed.
Abstract: The skin health benefits of seaweeds have been known since time immemorial. They are known as potential renewable sources of bioactive metabolites that have unique structural and functional features compared to their terrestrial counterparts. In addition, to the consciousness of green, eco-friendly, and natural skincare and cosmetics products, their extracts and bioactive compounds such as fucoidan, laminarin, carrageenan, fucoxanthin, and mycosporine like amino acids (MAAs) have proven useful in the skincare and cosmetic industries. These bioactive compounds have shown potential anti-photoaging properties. Furthermore, some of these bioactive compounds have been clinically tested and currently available in the market. In this contribution, the recent studies on anti-photoaging properties of extracts and bioactive compounds derived from seaweeds were described and discussed.

TL;DR: An actinomycete strain, ID05-A0528(T), was isolated using the SDS-yeast extract pre-treatment method from soil under mahogany trees in West Timor, Indonesia, and was examined by using a polyphasic taxonomic approach, demonstrating that the novel strain belongs to the genus Dietzia.
Abstract: An actinomycete strain, ID05-A0528T, was isolated using the SDS-yeast extract pre-treatment method from soil under mahogany (Swietenia mahogani) trees in West Timor, Indonesia, and was examined by using a polyphasic taxonomic approach. Chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic characterizations demonstrated that the novel strain belongs to the genus Dietzia. 16S rRNA gene sequencing studies showed that the strain was related to Dietzia cinnamea (97.2 %). Results of phenotypic and phylogenetic analyses determined that strain ID05-A0528T is different from the known species of the genus Dietzia. It is proposed that the isolate should be classified as a representative of a novel species of the genus Dietzia, with the name Dietzia timorensis sp. nov. The type strain is ID05-A0528T (=BTCC B-560T =NBRC 104184T).
