TL;DR: The role of the water structure present in hydrogels from nutlets of three species of salvias, S. viridis (SV), was analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The role of the water structure present in hydrogels from nutlets of three species of salvias,S. miltiorrhiza (SM),S. sclarea (SS) andS. viridis (SV), was analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The sharp endothermic peaks that appeared at 5.9 °C (SM), 2.8 °C (SS) and 1.8 °C (SV) in each 1.0% hydrogel of 10.4–15.8% were not affected by addition of 0.1 M urea and alkali-metal salts. The order-disorder portions in the network were slightly affected by the distribution of freezable and non-freezable water in the hydrogel networks. The SV hydrogel was further used to investigate the effects of additives (0.1–8.0 M urea and 0.1–5.0 M NaCl) on its melting behavior. At 0.5–4.0 M urea and 1.0–3.0 M NaCl, two endothermic peaks appeared, corresponding to unbound (high temperature) and bound (low temperature) water in the gel networks, and eventually merged into one endothermic peak at 5.0–8.0 M urea and 4.0–4.5 M NaCl. After this merger, the endothermic peak shifted to 3.7, 4.0 and 5.6 °C at 5.0, 6.0 and 8.0 M urea, respectively. In the case of NaCl, a combination of peaks that occurred at 4.0–4.5 M were accompanied by a shift to lower temperature (−14.4 and 15.3 °C) and the endothermic peak finally disappeared at 5.0 M NaCl due to the strong binding of water in the gel networks.

TL;DR: Of 45 plant extracts studied, Arcangelisia flava, Curcuma zedoaria, Garcinia benthamiana, Lansium domesticum and Peronema canescens were found to have appreciable antibabesial activity with IC50 values from 5.3 to 49.3 microg/ml.
Abstract: The inhibitory effects of 45 plant extracts selected from Central Kalimantan, Indonesia on Babesia gibsoni in vitro and their acute toxicity to mice were evaluated. Of these plant extracts studied, Arcangelisia flava, Curcuma zedoaria, Garcinia benthamiana, Lansium domesticum and Peronema canescens were found to have appreciable antibabesial activity with IC50 values from 5.3 to 49.3 μg/ml without acute toxicity in mice at the intraperitoneal dose of 0.7 g/kg of body weight.

TL;DR: In this paper, a study aimed to determine perceived usefulness, perceived of use, attitude, and intention to use student STMIK Mardira Indonesia Bandung towards online shopping behavior in e-commerce.
Abstract: The development of e-commerce in Indonesia is growing rapidly, resulting in the change of people's behavior in conducting online transactions. This study aims to determine perceived usefulness, perceived of use, attitude, and intention to use student STMIK Mardira Indonesia Bandung towards online shopping behavior in e-commerce. Exploratory research methods of data analysis techniques using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), component-based Partial Least Squares (PLS). The number of respondents were 60 active students who never transact online through e-commerce, with the data collection technique purposive sampling. Results of the study indicate where perceived usefulness, perceived of use significantly influence the attitude of students STMIK in online shopping, as well as a significant effect also on the intention to use. Keywords : perceived usefulness ; perceived of use ; attitude ; intention to use

TL;DR: Findings demonstrated that OsNAC6 might be a candidate of stress-responsive NAC regulatory gene that can be used to develop either drought or salt tolerant tolerant transgenic plants.
Abstract: Drought is a major constrain in crop production that reduce growth and cause yield loss of up to 70%. Transcription factor plays a major role in cellular regulation and physical changes of plants as a response to stress. A number of transcription factors, such as CBF/DREB, NAC, zinc finger protein are regulators during stress. The Oryza sativa NAC6 (OsNAC6) gene is one of the transcription factor in rice that can regulate gene expression during stress conditions. Thus, pCambia 1305 harboring OsNAC6 chimaeric gene with CaMV 35S promoter was introduced into rice zygotic embryo using Agrobacterium tumefaciens mediated transformation to regenerate transgenic rice overexpressing the transgene. As many as 39 putative transgenic lines in which 21 lines possitively harbored hpt gene have been regenerated. The positive identification of hpt in the regenerated transgenic rice indirectly indicated integration of the targeted OsNAC6 since both transgenes were part of the same T-DNA. Further analysis indicated the presence of 1-3 copies of transgene integration in the genome. The expression of OsNAC6 transgene in the transgenic rice line#C.73, C.83 and C.91 were higher than wild typenon-transgenic one. Further analysis indicated those three transgenic lines carrying OsNAC6 transgene exhibited higher tolerance against drought and salinity stresses. Moreover, three known stress-associated regulatory genes (AP2, Zincfinger protein and MYB) were up-regulated in those three transgenic lines. These findings demonstrated that OsNAC6 might be a candidate of stress-responsive NAC regulatory gene that can be used to develop either drought or salt tolerant tolerant transgenic plants.
