TL;DR: An analysis of COVID-19 spread that shows a different angle for the whole world, through 6 geographic regions (continents), to create a relationship between the countries, which are in the same geographical area to predict the advance of the virus.
Abstract: COVID-2019 is a global threat, for this reason around the world, researches have been focused on topics such as to detect it, prevent it, cure it, and predict it. Different analyses propose models to predict the evolution of this epidemic. These analyses propose models for specific geographical areas, specific countries, or create a global model. The models give us the possibility to predict the virus behavior, it could be used to make future response plans. This work presents an analysis of COVID-19 spread that shows a different angle for the whole world, through 6 geographic regions (continents). We propose to create a relationship between the countries, which are in the same geographical area to predict the advance of the virus. The countries in the same geographic region have variables with similar values (quantifiable and non-quantifiable), which affect the spread of the virus. We propose an algorithm to performed and evaluated the ARIMA model for 145 countries, which are distributed into 6 regions. Then, we construct a model for these regions using the ARIMA parameters, the population per 1M people, the number of cases, and polynomial functions. The proposal is able to predict the COVID-19 cases with a RMSE average of 144.81. The main outcome of this paper is showing a relation between COVID-19 behavior and population in a region, these results show us the opportunity to create more models to predict the COVID-19 behavior using variables as humidity, climate, culture, among others.

TL;DR: In this paper, the Fermi LAT gamma-ray and 15 GHz VLBA radio properties of a joint Gamma-ray- and radio-selected sample of AGNs obtained during the first 11 months of the FERi mission (2008 Aug 4 - 2009 Jul 5) were investigated.
Abstract: We investigate the Fermi LAT gamma-ray and 15 GHz VLBA radio properties of a joint gamma-ray- and radio-selected sample of AGNs obtained during the first 11 months of the Fermi mission (2008 Aug 4 - 2009 Jul 5). Our sample contains the brightest 173 AGNs in these bands above declination -30 deg. during this period, and thus probes the full range of gamma-ray loudness (gamma-ray to radio band luminosity ratio) in the bright blazar population. The latter quantity spans at least four orders of magnitude, reflecting a wide range of spectral energy distribution (SED) parameters in the bright blazar population. The BL Lac objects, however, display a linear correlation of increasing gamma-ray loudness with synchrotron SED peak frequency, suggesting a universal SED shape for objects of this class. The synchrotron self-Compton model is favored for the gamma-ray emission in these BL Lacs over external seed photon models, since the latter predict a dependence of Compton dominance on Doppler factor that would destroy any observed synchrotron SED peak - gamma-ray loudness correlation. The high-synchrotron peaked (HSP) BL Lac objects are distinguished by lower than average radio core brightness temperatures, and none display large radio modulation indices or high linear core polarization levels. No equivalent trends are seen for the flat-spectrum radio quasars (FSRQ) in our sample. Given the association of such properties with relativistic beaming, we suggest that the HSP BL Lacs have generally lower Doppler factors than the lower-synchrotron peaked BL Lacs or FSRQs in our sample.

01 Nov 2007TL;DR: In this work a method multi-biometric is considered using a combination of Fast Fourier Transform and Gabor Filters to enhancement the image and later a novel stage of recognition using Local Features and Statistical Parameters.
Abstract: Fingerprint recognition is one of the most popular methods used for identification with greater degree of success. The fingerprint has unique characteristics called minutiae, which are points where a curve track finishes, intersect or branches off. Identification systems using fingerprints biometric patterns are called AFIS (Automatic Fingerprint Identification System). In this work a method multi-biometric is considered using a combination of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Gabor Filters to enhancement the image and later a novel stage of recognition using Local Features and Statistical Parameters.

TL;DR: In this paper, a measurement of the charged hadron multiplicity in hadronic PbPb collisions, as a function of pseudorapidity and centrality, at a collision energy of 2.76 TeV per nucleon pair, is presented.
Abstract: A measurement is presented of the charged hadron multiplicity in hadronic PbPb collisions, as a function of pseudorapidity and centrality, at a collision energy of 2.76 TeV per nucleon pair. The data sample is collected using the CMS detector and a minimum-bias trigger, with the CMS solenoid off. The number of charged hadrons is measured both by counting the number of reconstructed particle hits and by forming hit doublets of pairs of layers in the pixel detector. The two methods give consistent results. The charged hadron multiplicity density dN(ch)/d eta, evaluated at eta=0 for head-on collisions, is found to be 1612 +/- 55, where the uncertainty is dominated by systematic effects. Comparisons of these results to previous measurements and to various models are also presented.

TL;DR: A new methodology to design pasteurization processes for high acidic fruit products is presented, using detection and identification methods for A. acidoterrestris and data regarding heat resistance of spores and growth in fruits were collected.
Abstract: Alicyclobacillus acidoterrestris is a thermoacidophilic, non-pathogenic and sporeforming bacterium which has been found in commercial pasteurized fruit juices in the past. Only few and recent studies were available in the literature, since only in 1984 Cerny et al. [Cerny, G., Hennlich, W., & Poralla, K. (1984). Fruchtsaftverderb durch bacillen: isolierung und charakterisierung des verderbserregers. Z. Lebensmitt. Unters. Forsch. 179, 224–227] reported a spoiled aseptically packaged apple juice with A. acidoterrestris and in 1987 Deinhard et al. [Deinhard, G., Blanz, P., Poralla, K., & Altan, E. (1987). Bacillus acidoterrestris sp. nov., a new thermotolerant acidophile isolated from different soils. Systematic and Applied Microbiology, 10, 47–53] named first this species. Detection and identification methods for A. acidoterrestris were reviewed and data regarding heat resistance of spores and growth in fruits were collected. Finally, a new methodology to design pasteurization processes for high acidic fruit products is presented.
