TL;DR: In this paper, a generalised phantom Chaplygin gas can present a future singularity in a finite future cosmic time, but unlike the big rip singularity, this singularity happens for a finite scale factor.

TL;DR: The results show that color constancy improves the classification of multisource images, increasing the sensitivity of a bag-of-features system from 71.0% to 79.7% and the specificity from 55.2% to 76% using only 1-D RGB histograms as features.
Abstract: Robustness is one of the most important characteristics of computer-aided diagnosis systems designed for dermoscopy images. However, it is difficult to ensure this characteristic if the systems operate with multisource images acquired under different setups. Changes in the illumination and acquisition devices alter the color of images and often reduce the performance of the systems. Thus, it is important to normalize the colors of dermoscopy images before training and testing any system. In this paper, we investigate four color constancy algorithms: Gray World, max-RGB, Shades of Gray, and General Gray World. Our results show that color constancy improves the classification of multisource images, increasing the sensitivity of a bag-of-features system from 71.0% to 79.7% and the specificity from 55.2% to 76% using only 1-D RGB histograms as features.

TL;DR: An efficient coupling of alcohols and amines catalyzed by well-defined isoelectronic hydride Mn(I) and Fe(II) complexes, which are stabilized by a PNP ligand based on the 2,6-diaminopyridine scaffold, which is an environmentally benign process implementing inexpensive, earth-abundant non-precious metal catalysts.
Abstract: Herein, we describe an efficient coupling of alcohols and amines catalyzed by well-defined isoelectronic hydride Mn(I) and Fe(II) complexes, which are stabilized by a PNP ligand based on the 2,6-diaminopyridine scaffold. This reaction is an environmentally benign process implementing inexpensive, earth-abundant non-precious metal catalysts, and is based on the acceptorless alcohol dehydrogenation concept. A range of alcohols and amines including both aromatic and aliphatic substrates were efficiently converted in good to excellent isolated yields. Although in the case of Mn selectively imines were obtained, with Fe-exclusively monoalkylated amines were formed. These reactions proceed under base-free conditions and required the addition of molecular sieves.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the long-time evolution of magnetic fields generated by the two-stream instability at ultra-and subrelativistic astrophysical collisionless shocks.
Abstract: We investigate the long-time evolution of magnetic fields generated by the two-stream instability at ultra- and subrelativistic astrophysical collisionless shocks. Based on three-dimensional particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation results, we introduce a two-dimensional toy model of interacting current filaments. Within the framework of this model, we demonstrate that the field correlation scale in the region far downstream of the shock grows nearly as the light crossing time, λ(t) ~ ct, thus making the diffusive field dissipation inefficient. The obtained theoretical scaling is tested using numerical PIC simulations. This result extends our understanding of the structure of collisionless shocks in gamma-ray bursts and other astrophysical objects.
