TL;DR: It is shown that fractional master equations are contained as a special case within the traditional theory of continuous time random walks for fractional time derivatives of order 0.1.
Abstract: Fractional master equations containing fractional time derivatives of order 0\ensuremath{\le}1 are introduced on the basis of a recent classification of time generators in ergodic theory. It is shown that fractional master equations are contained as a special case within the traditional theory of continuous time random walks. The corresponding waiting time density \ensuremath{\psi}(t) is obtained exactly as \ensuremath{\psi}(t)=(${\mathit{t}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\omega}}\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$/C)${\mathit{E}}_{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\omega}},\mathrm{\ensuremath{\omega}}}$(-${\mathit{t}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\omega}}}$/C), where ${\mathit{E}}_{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\omega}},\mathrm{\ensuremath{\omega}}}$(x) is the generalized Mittag-Leffler function. This waiting time distribution is singular both in the long time as well as in the short time limit.

TL;DR: These results reconcile melting temperature estimates based on sound velocity shock wave data with those based on diamond anvil cell experiments.
Abstract: The bulk properties of iron at the pressure and temperature conditions of Earth's core were determined by a method that combines first-principles and classical molecular dynamic simulations. The theory indicates that (i) the iron melting temperature at inner-core boundary (ICB) pressure (330 gigapascals) is 5400 (±400) kelvin; (ii) liquid iron at ICB conditions is about 6% denser than Earth's outer core; and (iii) the shear modulus of solid iron close to its melting line is 140 gigapascals, consistent with the seismic value for the inner core. These results reconcile melting temperature estimates based on sound velocity shock wave data with those based on diamond anvil cell experiments.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that Tr(−1) F F e βH is an index for N = 2 supersymmetric theories in two dimensions, in the sense that it is independent of almost all deformations of the theory.

TL;DR: The results of psychophysical tests show that Monica has severe difficulties with detecting pitch changes, and the data suggest that music-processing difficulties may result from problems in fine-grained discrimination of pitch, much in the same way as many language- processing difficulties arise from deficiencies in auditory temporal resolution.

TL;DR: In this paper, a cosmological scenario is proposed, in which standard inflation is replaced by an expanding phase with a drastic violation of the Null Energy Condition (NEC): the model is based on the recently introduced Galileon theories, which allow NEC violating solutions without instabilities.
Abstract: We propose a novel cosmological scenario, in which standard inflation is replaced by an expanding phase with a drastic violation of the Null Energy Condition (NEC): >> H2. The model is based on the recently introduced Galileon theories, which allow NEC violating solutions without instabilities. The unperturbed solution describes a Universe that is asymptotically Minkowski in the past, expands with increasing energy density until it exits the regime of validity of the effective field theory and reheats. This solution is a dynamical attractor and the Universe is driven to it, even if it is initially contracting. The study of perturbations of the Galileon field reveals some subtleties, related to the gross violation of the NEC and it shows that adiabatic perturbations are cosmologically irrelevant. The model, however, suggests a new way to produce a scale invariant spectrum of isocurvature perturbations, which can later be converted to adiabatic: the Galileon is forced by symmetry to couple to the other fields as a dilaton; the effective metric it yields on the NEC violating solution is that of de Sitter space, so that all light scalars will automatically acquire a nearly scale-invariant spectrum of perturbations.
