Broadband CPW-Fed Circularly Polarized Square Slot Antenna With Inverted-L Strips for UWB Applications

Abstract: This letter presents a new design for a circularly polarized square slot antenna (CPSSA). The proposed single-layer antenna composed of a square ground plane embedded with two unequal-size inverted-L strips around two opposite corners is capable of generating a resonant mode for exciting two orthogonal E vectors. In this model, compared to the previous CPSSA structures, the impedance bandwidth and the axial ratio bandwidth of antenna are increased, which is four times wider than the impedance bandwidth of previous similar designs. The designed CPSS antenna with size 60 × 60 × 0.8 mm3 operates over the frequency band between 2.67 and 13 GHz (4.74:1, 132%) for VSWR <; 2, exhibiting a 32.2% (4.9-6.9 GHz, 1.5:1) circular polarization (CP) bandwidth. Throughout this letter, the improvement process of the axial ratio (AR) and S\\ properties are presented and discussed in detail.

A hybrid method consisting of GA and SVM for intrusion detection system

Abstract: In this paper, a hybrid method of support vector machine and genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed and its implementation in intrusion detection problem is explained. The proposed hybrid algorithm is employed in reducing the number of features from 45 to 10. The features are categorized into three priorities using GA algorithm as the highest important is the first priority and the lowest important is placed in the third priority. The feature distribution is done in a way that 4 features are placed in the first priority, 4 features in the second, and 2 features in the third priority. The results reveal that the proposed hybrid algorithm is capable of achieving a true-positive value of 0.973, while the false-positive value is 0.017.

Measurement of the lepton charge asymmetry in inclusive W production in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV

Abstract: A measurement of the lepton charge asymmetry in inclusive pp to WX production at sqrt(s)= 7 TeV is presented based on data recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 inverse picobarns. This high precision measurement of the lepton charge asymmetry, performed in both the W to e nu and W to mu nu channels, provides new insights into parton distribution functions.
