TL;DR: In this paper, a new version for the mathematical model of HIV was proposed by using the fractional Caputo-Fabrizio derivative, and the existence and uniqueness of the solution for the model by using fixed point theory.
Abstract: By using the fractional Caputo–Fabrizio derivative, we investigate a new version for the mathematical model of HIV. In this way, we review the existence and uniqueness of the solution for the model by using fixed point theory. We solve the equation by a combination of the Laplace transform and homotopy analysis method. Finally, we provide some numerical analytics and comparisons of the results.

TL;DR: In this article, a search for a light charged Higgs boson that can be produced in the decay of the top quark to charged H and b quark and which, in turn, decays into tau and tau neutrino is presented.
Abstract: Results are presented on a search for a light charged Higgs boson that can be produced in the decay of the top quark to charged H and b quark and which, in turn, decays into tau and tau neutrino. The analysed data correspond to an integrated luminosity of about 2 inverse femtobarns recorded in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The search is sensitive to the decays of the top quark pairs t anti-t to charged Higgs W b anti-b and t anti-t to charged Higgs b anti-b. Various final states have been studied separately, all requiring presence of a tau lepton from charged Higgs decays, missing transverse energy, and multiple jets. Upper limits on the branching fraction B(t to charged Higgs b) in the range of 2-3% are established for charged Higgs boson masses between 80 and 160 GeV, under the assumption that B(charged Higgs to tau anti-tau neutrino) = 1.

TL;DR: In this paper, the chitosan/TiO 2 composite nanofibrous adsorbents were developed by two techniques including TiO 2 nanoparticles coated chitosa-nibers (coating method) and electrospinning of chitosi-nigram solutions (entrapped method) for the removal of Pb (II) and Cu(II) ions in a batch system.
Abstract: The chitosan/TiO 2 composite nanofibrous adsorbents were developed by two techniques including TiO 2 nanoparticles coated chitosan nanofibers (coating method) and electrospinning of chitosan/TiO 2 solutions (entrapped method). The potential of prepared nanofibers was investigated for the removal of Pb (II) and Cu (II) ions in a batch system. The nanofibers were characterized by SEM, FTIR and BET analysis. Kinetic and equilibrium studies showed that the experimental data of Pb (II) and Cu (II) ions were best described by pseudo-first-order and Redlich–Peterson isotherm models using the both chitosan/TiO 2 nanofibers. The maximum adsorption capacities of Cu (II) and Pb (II) ions using entrapped and coating methods were found to be 710.3, 579.1 and 526.5, 475.5 mg/g at equilibrium time of 30 min and 45 ° C, respectively. The reusability studies indicated that the chitosan/TiO 2 nanofibers prepared by entrapped method could be reused frequently without significant loss in adsorption performance after five adsorption/desorption cycles. Whereas, lower than 60% of total adsorption in first cycle took place for metal ions sorption using nanofibers prepared by coating method. The sorption studies of metal ions in a binary system revealed that the selectivity of metal sorption using chitosan/TiO 2 nanofibrous adsorbent was in order of Cu (II) > Pb (II).

TL;DR: Results of the present trial suggest that curcumin supplementation reduces serum lipids and uric acid concentrations in patients with NAFLD.
Abstract: BACKGROUND Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is one of the most common hepatic diseases in the general adult population. Dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia, and insulin resistance are common risk factors and accompanying features of NAFLD. Curcumin is a dietary natural product with beneficial metabolic effects relevant to the treatment of NAFLD. AIM To assess the effects of curcumin on metabolic profile in subjects with NAFLD. METHODS Patients diagnosed with NAFLD (grades 1-3; according to liver sonography) were randomly assigned to curcumin (1000 mg/d in 2 divided doses) (n = 50) or control (n = 52) group for a period of 8 weeks. All patients received dietary and lifestyle advises before the start of trial. Anthropometric measurements, lipid profile, glucose, insulin, glycated hemoglobin, and uric acid concentrations were measured at baseline and after 8 weeks of follow-up. RESULTS Eighty-seven subjects (n = 44 and 43 in the curcumin and control group, respectively) completed the trial. Supplementation with curcumin was associated with a reduction in serum levels of total cholesterol (P < 0.001), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (P < 0.001), triglycerides (P < 0.001), non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (P < 0.001), and uric acid (P < 0.001), whereas serum levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and glucose control parameters remained unaltered. Curcumin was safe and well tolerated during this study. CONCLUSION Results of the present trial suggest that curcumin supplementation reduces serum lipids and uric acid concentrations in patients with NAFLD.
