TL;DR: In this article, the authors study the tunneling process through the quantum horizon of a Schwarzschild black hole in non-commutative spacetime, by considering the effect of smearing of the particle mass as a Gaussian profile in flat spacetime.
Abstract: We study the tunneling process through the quantum horizon of a Schwarzschild black hole in noncommutative spacetime. This is done by considering the effect of smearing of the particle mass as a Gaussian profile in flat spacetime. We show that even in this noncommutative setup there will be no correlation between the different modes of radiation, which reflects the fact that information does not come out continuously during the evaporation process at least at late time. However, due to spacetime noncommutativity, information might be preserved by a stable black hole remnant.

TL;DR: Using the fuzzy TOPSIS method, this study provides a rational and systematic process for developing the best model under each of the selection criteria and can discriminate successfully and clearly among risk assessment methods.
Abstract: Construction industry faces a lot of inherent uncertainties and issues. As this industry is plagued by risk, risk management is an important part of the decision-making process of these companies. Risk assessment is the critical procedure of risk management. Despite many scholars and practitioners recognizing the risk assessment models in projects, insufficient attention has been paid by researchers to select the suitable risk assessment model. In general, many factors affect this problem which adheres to uncertain and imprecise data and usually several people are involved in the selection process. Using the fuzzy TOPSIS method, this study provides a rational and systematic process for developing the best model under each of the selection criteria. Decision criteria are obtained from the nominal group technique (NGT). The proposed method can discriminate successfully and clearly among risk assessment methods. The proposed approach is demonstrated using a real case involving an Iranian construction corporation.

TL;DR: In this article, the degradation kinetics of tetracycline antibiotic by nanosized titanium dioxide under ultraviolet irradiation were investigated and the effect of the addition of Hydrogen peroxide was evaluated.
Abstract: The aim of the study was to investigate the degradation kinetics of tetracycline antibiotic by nanosized titanium dioxide under ultraviolet irradiation. Enhancement of photocatalysis by addition of Hydrogen peroxide was also evaluated. Various experimental parameters such as initial tetracycline concentrations, initial titanium dioxide concentration, initial pH, reaction times, initial Hydrogen peroxide concentrations, as well as water matrix using ultrapure water, drinking water and secondary effluent were investigated. The initial rate of photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline well fitted the Langmuir–Hinshelwood kinetic model (R
2 = 0.9926) with a reaction rate constant of 1.4 mg/L min. The degradation rate depended on initial tetracycline concentration and initial pH. The degradation rate also increased with higher titanium dioxide density and reached a plateau at titanium dioxide concentration of 1.0 g/L. The tetracycline degradation rate was higher in drinking water compared to ultrapure water. The addition of Hydrogen peroxide to titanium dioxide suspension significantly enhanced the tetracycline degradation rate and substantially reduced the time required to degrade 100 % of tetracycline. Changes of chemical oxygen demand values during photolysis indicated that tetracycline transformed into intermediate products without complete mineralization. The ultraviolet visible spectra obtained before and after ultraviolet irradiation in the presence of titanium dioxide can indicate the formation of 4a,12a-anhydro-4-oxo-4- dimethylaminotetracycline.

TL;DR: In this article, a measurement of the single-top-quark t-channel production cross section in pp collisions at s√=7 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC is presented.
Abstract: A measurement of the single-top-quark t-channel production cross section in pp collisions at s√=7 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC is presented. Two different and complementary approaches have been followed. The first approach exploits the distributions of the pseudorapidity of the recoil jet and reconstructed top-quark mass using background estimates determined from control samples in data. The second approach is based on multivariate analysis techniques that probe the compatibility of the candidate events with the signal. Data have been collected for the muon and electron final states, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1.17 and 1.56 fb^(−1), respectively. The single-top-quark production cross section in the t-channel is measured to be 67.2±6.1 pb, in agreement with the approximate next-to-next-to-leading-order standard model prediction. Using the standard model electroweak couplings, the CKM matrix element |V_(tb)| is measured to be 1.020 ± 0.046 (meas.) ± 0.017 (theor.).
