TL;DR: 2-Hydroxy-2,2-diphenylacetohydrazide (2), cyclic ketones, and mercaptoalkanoic acids were converted into 2-hydroxy-N-(3-oxo-1-thia-4-azaspiro)[4.4]non/[4.5]dec- 4-yl)-2, 2-d Diphenyl acetamide derivatives (3, 4) in a one pot procedure.
Abstract: 2-Hydroxy-2,2-diphenylacetohydrazide (2), cyclic ketones, and mercaptoalkanoic acids were converted into 2-hydroxy-N-(3-oxo-1-thia-4-azaspiro[4.4]non/[4.5]dec-4-yl)-2,2-diphenylacetamide derivatives (3, 4) in a one pot procedure. Compounds 3 and 4 were tested for in vitro antimycobacterial activity against M. tuberculosis H37Rv. The compounds were found to provide 0–86% inhibition of mycobacterial growth in the primary screen conducted at 6.25 μg/cm3.

TL;DR: Experimental results show that film offers a promising perspective as a sensing material for the detection of relatively low aromatic vapours even at room temperature, and suggests that aromatics might be distinguished from alcohols.
Abstract: New ball-type homodinuclear Co(II)–Co(II) phthalocyanine (2) and ball-type heterodinuclear Co(II)–Fe(II) phthalocyanine (3) were synthesized from the corresponding [2,10,16,24-tetrakis{4,4′-cyclohexylidenebis(2-cyclohexyphenoxyphthalonitrile)}phthalocyaninatocobalt(II)] (1). The novel compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis and MALDI-TOF mass spectroscopy. Gas sensing capability of the spin coated film of 2 and 3 were studied using amperometric technique at various temperatures. For a better understanding of the interaction of 2 and 3 films with organic compounds, two different groups of compounds (aromatics and alcohols) were selected as test analytes. It was observed that the operating temperature had a considerable effect on the gas sensing performance of the sensors investigated. The experimental results show that 3 film offers a promising perspective as a sensing material for the detection of relatively low aromatic vapours even at room temperature. This suggests that aromatics might be distinguished from alcohols. The obtained data were analysed using two different adsorption kinetic models: the pseudo first order equation and Elovich equation to determine the best fit equation for the adsorption of toluene vapor onto 2 and 3 films. The first-order equation was the best of the various kinetic models studied to describe the adsorption kinetic of toluene on Pc films at higher concentrations, as evidenced by the highest correlation coefficients. In addition, it was observed that Elovich equation generates a straight line that best fit to the data of adsorption of lower concentrations of toluene.

TL;DR: A case of an adult intussusception secondary to inflammatory fibroid polyp that was depicted on multiplanar MR images and confirmed at surgery and histopathological examination is described.
Abstract: Adult intussusception secondary to inflammatory polyp occurs rarely. Imaging of intussusception on ultrasound, CT and MRI has been previously described. In this report we describe a case of an adult intussusception secondary to inflammatory fibroid polyp. Both the lead point (inflammatory fibroid polyp) and intussusception were depicted on multiplanar MR images. Findings on MRI were confirmed at surgery and histopathological examination.

TL;DR: A cosmetically acceptable, stable and effective emulgel formulation for skin barrier function with good hydrating properties was obtained for skin hydration, protection and anti-aging purposes.
Abstract: Prevention of skin aging and its treatment is an emerging field for development of new formulations in cosmetics. Accordingly, plant extracts with antioxidant properties are beneficial cosmetic ingredients for this purpose. This study was aimed at developing a stable and easily manufactured emulgel including green tea extract and rose oil that is effective on the barrier function and hydration of the skin. An emulgel formulation containing 20 % green tea extract and 5 % rose oil was designed as a result of pre-formulation studies. Physicochemical characterization, in vitro stability studies, in vivo water content of the stratum corneum and transepidermal water loss studies were carried out afterwards. In vivo studies on ten female subjects were evaluated by using non-invasive skin bioengineering techniques. Finally, a cosmetically acceptable, stable and effective emulgel formulation for skin barrier function with good hydrating properties was obtained for skin hydration, protection and anti-aging purposes.
