TL;DR: The singularity free space-time metric obtained by Krori and Barua (J. Phys. A, Math. Gen. 8:508, 1975) satisfies the physical requirements of a realistic star as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The singularity free space-time metric obtained by Krori and Barua (J. Phys. A, Math. Gen. 8:508, 1975) satisfies the physical requirements of a realistic star. Consequently, we explore the possibility of applying the Krori and Barua model to describe ultra-compact objects like strange stars. For it to become a viable model for strange stars, bounds on the model parameters have been obtained. Consequences of a mathematical description to model strange stars have been analyzed.

TL;DR: In this paper, an integrated model combining AHP and QFD has been delineated for the industrial robot selection problem, where seven technical requirement factors have been considered for the case study.
Abstract: Selection of a robot is an important task, as improper selection may adversely affect a firm's production by reducing the quality of the product, thereby reducing productivity as well as profitability. To effectively select a robot for a specified job, several factors have to be considered. The objective of this paper is to explain how, using a combined AHP/QFD model, the authors are able to determine if the deployment of robots in industry helped in performance enhancement from requirement perspective. Incorporating a simple and novel cost factor measure in the proposed integrated AHP/QFD model aids justification of the implementation of a robotic system in a manufacturing firm from an economic point of view also. The proposed integrated approach also identifies technical requirements followed by customer requirements. In this paper, an integrated model combining AHP and QFD has been delineated for the industrial robot selection problem. Seven technical requirement factors have been considered for the case study.

TL;DR: It is proposed that dyes with bulkier substitutions are intercalated into the DNA to a lesser extent to assess the structural effects of dyes binding to DNA and confirm the intercalative mode of binding as suggested by fluorescence.
Abstract: Absorption, steady-state fluorescence, steady-state fluorescence anisotropy, and intrinsic and induced circular dichroism (CD) have been exploited to explore the binding of calf thymus DNA (ctDNA) with three cationic phenazinium dyes, viz., phenosafranin (PSF), safranin-T (ST), and safranin-O (SO). The absorption and fluorescence spectra of all the three dyes reflect significant modifications upon interaction with the DNA. A comparative study of the dyes with respect to modification of fluorescence and fluorescence anisotropy upon binding, effect of urea, iodide-induced fluorescence quenching, and CD measurements reveal that the dyes bind to the ctDNA principally in an intercalative fashion. The effect of ionic strength indicates that electrostatic attraction between the cationic dyes and ctDNA is also an important component of the dye-DNA interaction. Intrinsic and induced CD studies help to assess the structural effects of dyes binding to DNA and confirm the intercalative mode of binding as suggested by fluorescence and other studies. Finally it is proposed that dyes with bulkier substitutions are intercalated into the DNA to a lesser extent.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that common law systems were more protective of shareholders than civil law ones in the period 1995-2005, and that civilian systems were catching up, suggesting that civil law origin was not much of an obstacle to convergence.
Abstract: Using a panel dataset covering a range of developed and developing countries, we show that common law systems were more protective of shareholder interests than civil law ones in the period 1995-2005. However, civilian systems were catching up, suggesting that civil law origin was not much of an obstacle to convergence. We find no evidence of a long-run impact of legal change on stock market development. Possible explanations are that laws have been overly protective of shareholders; transplanted laws have not worked as expected; and, more generally, the exogenous legal origin effect is not as strong as widely supposed.

TL;DR: The methanol fraction of M. oleifera leaf extract was found to possess significant protective actions in acetylsalicylic acid, serotonin and indomethacin induced gastric lesions in experimental rats.
Abstract: The methanol fraction of M. oleifera leaf extract was found to possess significant protective actions in acetylsalicylic acid, serotonin and indomethacin induced gastric lesions in experimental rats. A significant enhancement of the healing process in acetic acid—induced chronic gastric lesions was also observed with the extract-treated animals.
