TL;DR: There is a delayed eruption of teeth in present generation and for girls, it occurs at age of 7.88 months and for boys, it occur at the age of 8.08 months.
Abstract: Background: Feeding mode during infancy and its effect on deciduous tooth appearance in oral cavity in two generations and among genders. Aim and Objective: Study aimed to compare and correlate times and patterns of deciduous tooth eruption in breastfeeding (OBF), partial breastfeeding (PBF) and spoon feeding (SF) infants and initiation of semisolid food feeding (SSF) in infants. It also aimed to address the variations in the time of eruption of first deciduous tooth and its pattern in two generations who had more than a decade of difference in ages. Materials and methods: An open-ended questionnaire study was conducted on mothers of 265 patients from two groups, generation 1 (G1)- adults who were aged 20-35 years and second group, generation 2 (G2) - children who were below 5 years of age . Results: A statistical significance was observed with respect to age, gender, generations, and frequency of breastfeeding, partial breastfeeding and time of initiation of semisolid food. Conclusion: There is a delayed eruption of teeth in present generation. For girls, it occurs at age of 7.88 months and for boys, it occurs at the age of 8.08 months.

TL;DR: Data suggest a possible link between serum homocysteine and decreased vascular reactivity to endothelium-dependent relaxation in I/R aorta.
Abstract: Background: Elevation of serum homocysteine is considered to contribute to endothelial dysfunc- tion, which is considered to be the initial event in vascular disease following renal transplantation. We sought to investigate whether an association exist- ed between serum homocysteine levels and endo- thelial dysfunction after renal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Materials and methods: Acetylcholine (Ach)-induced endothelium-dependent and sodium nitroprusside (SNP)-induced endothelial-independent relaxation responses were determined in thoracic aortas from different I/R groups. A correlation analysis was per- formed between Ach responses and homocysteine levels. Results: Long-term I/R injury decreased the respons- es to acetylcholine and the pD 2 values of the con- centration response curves compared with controls. While vascular responses to SNP were unchanged among all groups. Homocysteine levels correlated with the pD 2 values of acetylcholine among control and I/R groups, indicating that the increase in homo- cysteine was associated with decreased sensitivity to acetylcholine. In short-term I/R rats, no associa- tion was observed between these parameters. Conclusion: These data suggest a possible link be- tween serum homocysteine and decreased vascular reactivity to endothelium-dependent relaxation in I/R aorta.

TL;DR: This study rejects the hypothesis that established a co-relation between OLP and HCV and concludes that patients with OLP did not have any evidence of chronic liver disease or HBV or HCV infection.
Abstract: Aim The relationship between the hepatitis C virus (HCV) and oral lichen planus (OLP) remains a controversial subject for clinicians. Many studies aimed at studying the association between HCV and OLP have been conducted over the years. Geographical variations have been shown to be a major factor influencing this association. This study aimed at determining whether such an epidemiological relationship exists in an Indian population. Methods One hundred and thirty clinically and histopathologically confirmed OLP patients (46 males and 84 females, mean age 43.47±10.48 years) and 130 age- and gender matched controls were examined for serological evidence of chronic hepatic disease, hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), and anti-HCV seropositivity. The blood samples were collected from both the groups and subjected to biochemical analysis for total bilirubin, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase enzymes using a semi-automated biochemistry analyser. HBsAg and antibody to HCV were tested by ELISA. Statistical analysis was calculated using Levene's test and the independent t-test. Results No significant difference between serum levels of total bilirubin, alanine aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase and aspartate aminotransferase was observed between both groups. All patients with OLP had normal liver function. None of the patients with OLP or the control subjects had antigens for HBsAg and HCV. Conclusion Patients with OLP did not have any evidence of chronic liver disease or HBV or HCV infection. The exact mechanism that exists between the association of HCV and OLP still remains unclear and this study rejects the hypothesis that established a co-relation between OLP and HCV infection.
