TL;DR: In this paper, the convergence conditions for weak and strong convergence of general regularization methods for linear ill-posed problems in Hilbert space were given, and convergence criteria for Tychonoff regularization, for a regularization method based on Showalter's integral formula and for regularization by truncated iteration.
Abstract: In this paper, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for weak and strong convergence of general regularization methods for the solution of linear ill-posed problems in Hilbert space. As special cases we obtain convergence criteria for Tychonoff regularization, for a regularization method based on Showalter's integral formula, and for regularization by truncated iteration

TL;DR: In this paper, the long standing problem of solvent dependent absorption spectra of certain bile pigments such as bilirubindimethylester has been solved by measurement of molecular masses by means of vapour pressure osmometry.
Abstract: The long standing problem of solvent dependent absorption spectra of certain bile pigments such as bilirubindimethylester has been solved by measurement of molecular masses by means of vapour pressure osmometry. Using this method and the investigation of the concentration and temperature dependence of the absorption spectra on several model compounds an association equilibrium for pigments of the rubinoid structural type could be confirmed. Moreover the optical properties of the coexisting species and the corresponding equilibrium constants could be deduced by spectroscopic techniques. Verdinoid pigments lacking free carboxylic functions on the other hand tend to be monomeric in solution. A heteroassociated species involving equimolar amounts of a verdinoid and a rubinoid pigment could be verified existing on adsorbents like silicagel.

TL;DR: In this article, the energy hypersurface of bile pigments was calculated using a force field model, and two cases were observed: the pigment is substituted symmetrically or unsymmetrically by apolar groups and the barrier between these species amounts to about 40 kJ/mol.
Abstract: The energy hypersurface of rubinoid bile pigments is calculated using a force field model previously described. Two cases are observed. I: The pigment is substituted symmetrically or unsymmetrically by apolar groups. This results in a very shallow energy valley containing several enantiomeric conformers of approximately equal energies. II: Substitution by polar groups, especially in position 8 and 12 of the rubin skeleton, (e.g.−CH2−CH2−COOH) is followed by a “lock in” bonding between such groups and the lactam ring functions. Thereby only two enantiomeric conformers, which are energetically stabilized, are possible. The barrier between these species amounts to about 40 kJ/mol. These results are compared with the experimental facts available so far. An analysis of the corresponding energy hypersurfaces of the diastereomeric forms of (Z,Z)-, (E,Z)-, (Z,E)- and (E,E)-configurations is given as well.

TL;DR: Substituted azafulvenes were generated by dehydrogenation of 5′-methyl-substitized pyrromethenones with DDQ and characterized by UV- and 1H-NMR-spectroscopy as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: Substituted azafulvenes were generated by dehydrogenation of 5′-methyl-substituted pyrromethenones withDDQ and characterized by UV- and1H-NMR-spectroscopy. Their electrophilic properties were demonstrated using several quenchers and furthermore they were used for a synthesis of verdinoid bile pigments (which easily can be converted to rubinoid systems by the action of NaBH4) with nearly any desired unsymmetrical alkyl substitution patter: The azafulvene spezies was generated by the action ofDDQ on a 5′-methylpyrromethenone and was quenched by an 5′-unsubstituted pyrromethenone. The resulting rubinoid adduct was dehydrogenated immediatly byDDQ — yields were good to high.

Abstract: We calculate the observable critical temperature dependence of the transport coefficients entering the hydrodynamic form of the dynamic structure factor of4He belowTλ. Application of our recently introduced nonlinear renormalization-group analysis yields quantitative agreement with previous light scattering experiments in the hydrodynamic region. This resolves a long-standing problem in the critical dynamics below the superfluid transition of4He.

TL;DR: A simple method to treat the so-called Heywood case in the minres method in factor analysis requiring less computing time and enjoying higher numerical stability is described.
Abstract: The method proposed by Harman and Fukuda to treat the so-called Heywood case in the minres method in factor analysis i.e., the case where the resulting communalities are greater than one, involves the frequent solution of eigenvalue problems. A simple method to treat this problem requiring less computing time and enjoying higher numerical stability is described in this paper.

TL;DR: In this article, the crossover behavior in the dynamics near the Lambda transition of 4He is analyzed on the basis of the complete renormalization-group flow equations for the asymmetric-spin model (F) in two-loop order.
Abstract: The crossover behaviour in the dynamics near the Lambda transition of4He is analyzed on the basis of the complete renormalization-group flow equations for the asymmetric-spin model (F) in two-loop order. Our results confirm the conclusions and refine the results obtained from an earlier analysis based on the symmetric model (E) and invalidate part of a recent analysis treating model F in an unsystematic approximation. Excellent agreement is found with measurements of second-sound damping over four decades in relative temperature. Closer toTλ our analysis predicts a further increase of the effective amplitudeRλeff of the thermal conductivity.

TL;DR: This paper describes the architecture of an innovative modular crossbar switch for large-scale multiprocessor systems; its modular design principle is given a particularly thorough treatment.
Abstract: This paper describes the architecture of an innovative modular crossbar switch for large-scale multiprocessor systems; its modular design principle is given a particularly thorough treatment. The crucial points of this design principle are the utilization of bit-serial buses and an integration of a combination of crosspoints with its own microprogrammed controller, (which is designated as "configurational processor") into a single building block, preferably an IC. This innovative concept allows the implementation of full crossbar switches for systems up to about 128 processors at relatively low cost. The expense of a crossbar for a system with approximately 1024 processing elements is then comparable to that of the other parts of the whole system.A particular implementation of such a crossbar switch is embedded in a large-scale multimicroprocessor system being built at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria. This implementation is discussed in detail; emphasis is given to the complexity of its functional elements and its hardware expense. Since no ICs have yet been produced for the realization of the new building block for the crossbar mentioned above, this building block is realized on a printed circuit board using standard LSI-circuits.

TL;DR: The static dielectric constant of Pb1−xGexTe (0≦x≦0.05) has been determined from differential capacitance measurements on Schottky-barriers in the temperature range of 4.2-300 K.
Abstract: The static dielectric constant of Pb1−xGexTe (0≦x≦0.05) has been determined from differential capacitance measurements on Schottky-barriers in the temperature range of 4.2–300 K. A comparison with data deduced from the phonon frequencies via the Lyddane-Sachs-Teller relation shows substantial discrepancies which are attributed to lattice defects.

Abstract: Point processes P are probability measures on the set N of all integer valued Radon measures μ on a certain phase space T which for most of the applications is ℤd (lattice models) or ℝd (continuous models). The name “point process” comes from the fact, that an integer valued Radon measure can be identified with a corresponding configuration of points in the phase space.

TL;DR: In this article, the continuous dependence of solutions to these equations on the parameter is investigated in a Banach space in the framework of generalized inverses, where the integral operators involved have the property that the dimension of their nullspaces changes between two nonzero values as the parameter tends to zero.
Abstract: The treatment of certain electro- and magnetostatic boundary and transmission problems by boundary integral equations leads to parameter-dependent integral equations of the second kind. The integral operators involved have the property that the dimension of their nullspaces changes between two nonzero values (depending on the geometry of the problem) as the parameter tends to zero. We investigate the continuous dependence of solutions to these equations on the parameter. To this end, we treat the problem of continuous dependence of solutions to parameter-dependent linear operator equations of the second kind in a Banach space in the framework of generalized inverses.
