TL;DR: An interpretation of the observed vesicle shape transformation on the basis of the bilayer-couple model is proposed, which takes into account uptake of oleic acid/oleate molecules by the POPC vesicles, oleoic acid flip-flop processes and transient pore formation.

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that even though the imidazole in protonated form binds stronger to the surface than the neutral form, it is prone to deprotonation (dehydrogenation) resulting in neutral form which further dehydrogenates due to the breaking of the C2-H bond.

TL;DR: MoS2 monolayers were investigated by means of electron and atomic force microscopies, showing their structure, and ultraviolet-visible spectrometry, revealing quantum confinement as the consequence of the nanoscale size in the z-direction.
Abstract: We report on the first exfoliation of MoS2 coaxial nanotubes. The single-layer flakes, as the result of exfoliation, represent the transition metal dichalcogenides' analogue of graphene. They show a very low degree of restacking in comparison with exfoliation of MoS2 plate-like crystals. MoS2 monolayers were investigated by means of electron and atomic force microscopies, showing their structure, and ultraviolet-visible spectrometry, revealing quantum confinement as the consequence of the nanoscale size in the z-direction.

TL;DR: In this paper, carbon coatings on various submicrometre-sized particles that can be used as active materials in lithium rechargeable batteries were prepared on the surface of substrate particles and demonstrated on the example of MoS 2 nanotubes.
Abstract: Carbon coatings were prepared on various submicrometre-sized particles that can be used as active materials in lithium rechargeable batteries. As a precursor citrate anion was used which, after carbonization at 500–600 °C, transforms into a uniform, several-nanometre-thick film that is tightly adhered to the surface of substrate particles. The coatings on Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 and TiO 2 increased significantly the average electron conductivity of cathode composite material, which resulted in a more than 100% increase of reversible capacity at a C/3 rate. Additionally, the coating on TiO 2 prevented the gradual deterioration of reversible capacity of this material observed in absence of coating. In cases where due to temperature or atmosphere sensitivity of the substrate, carbon nanocoatings cannot be prepared, we propose the use of conductive polymers. A successful wiring using a sulphonated polyaniline is demonstrated on the example of MoS 2 nanotubes.

TL;DR: The paper shows that unification of von Neumann and dataflow models is possible and preferred to treating them as two unrelated, orthogonal computing paradigms.
Abstract: The paper presents an overview of the parallel computing models, architectures, and research projects that are based on asynchronous instruction scheduling. It starts with pure dataflow computing models and presents an historical development of several ideas (i.e. single-token-per-arc dataflow, tagged-token dataflow, explicit token store, threaded dataflow, large-grain dataflow, RISC dataflow, cycle-by-cycle interleaved multithreading, block interleaved multithreading, simultaneous multithreading) that resulted in modern multithreaded superscalar processors. The paper shows that unification of von Neumann and dataflow models is possible and preferred to treating them as two unrelated, orthogonal computing paradigms. Today's dataflow research incorporates more explicit notions of state into the architecture, and von Neumann models using many dataflow techniques to improve the latency hiding aspects of modern multithreaded systems.
