TL;DR: In this article, the diversity of macromycetes in the Poznan-Radojewo park was characterized based on literature data, unpublished master's theses, the authors' data, as well as data collected during two mycological trips organized by the Mycological Section of the Polish Botanical Society.
Abstract: This work aimed to present the diversity of fungal species in the Poznan- Radojewo park. It was characterized based on literature data, unpublished master’s theses, the authors’ data, as well as data collected during two mycological trips organized by the Mycological Section of the Polish Botanical Society. Between 1980 and 2017, as many as 333 species of macromycetes have been found within the park in Poznan-Radojewo (among them 19% are rare and endangered), including eight protected species ( Mitrophora semilibera , Morchella esculenta (var. esculenta and var. umbrina ), Geastrum corollinum , G. fornicatum , Hericium coralloides, and Myriostoma coliforme ), as well as two species new to the Polish mycobiota: Psathyrella bipellis and P. larga . The park in Poznan-Radojewo is very important for maintaining a high species diversity of fungi within the city of Poznan. During revitalization works, it is of paramount importance to take the needs of rare, threatened, and protected species under consideration and to preserve the natural character of plant communities. It is also vital to ensure the presence of coarse woody debris at different decomposition phases, which serves as an important substratum type for rare fungi.

TL;DR: Morphological variability occurs in all species and includes mainly the presence and size of foveae in different parts of body of the juveniles, shape of femora I–IV of nymphs and shape of prodorsal lamellar costulae and tubercles between the bothridia of the adults.
Abstract: In this study the variability of the external morphology of Eueremaeus Mihelcic, 1963 was investigated, in the light of the ontogeny of Eueremaeus oblongus (C.L. Koch, 1835), Eueremaeus intermedius Mihelcic, 1963, Eueremaeus silvestris Forsslund, 1956 and Eueremaeus travei Mihelcic, 1963 and the literature. Morphological variability occurs in all species and includes mainly the presence and size of foveae in different parts of body of the juveniles, shape of femora I–IV of nymphs and shape of prodorsal lamellar costulae and tubercles between the bothridia of the adults. Eueremaeus intermedius and Eu. silvestris are considered by some authors as synonyms of Eu. oblongus, but in the light of our observations these species differ by the morphology of the juveniles and adults from Eu. oblongus, so we provisionally reject these synonyms until the type or topotypic material of these species can be compared. All these species are relatively similar in the larva, and differentiation of their morphology increases ...

TL;DR: In this paper, the porosity of cartilage and hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) was found to be a critical factor in facilitating the excellent tribological properties of both articular cartilage, and the porous metal bearings studied.
Abstract: The multilamellar structure of phospholipids, i.e. the surface amorphous layer (SAL) that covers the natural surface of articular cartilage, and hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) on the surface of metal porous bearings are two prominent examples of the family of layered materials that possess the ability to deliver lamellar lubrication. This chapter presents the friction study that was conducted on the surfaces of cartilage and the metal porous bearing impregnated with oil (first generation) and with oil + h-BN (second generation). The porosity of cartilage is around 75% and those of metal porous bearings were 15–28 wt%. It is concluded that porosity is a critical factor in facilitating the excellent tribological properties of both articular cartilage and the porous metal bearings studied.

TL;DR: Examination of biomechanical characteristics of taekwondo athletes comparing kicks and punches with laboratory tests of muscle strength and power concluded that maximal joint torques and height of the SPJ could be used as a proxy of kicking force.
Abstract: Summary Study aim: The aim of the study was to examine biomechanical characteristics of taekwondo athletes comparing kicks and punches with laboratory tests of muscle strength and power. Material and methods: Six male taekwondo athletes participated in this study. Measurements of maximal punching with the rear hand (hook and straight punches) and kicking (Apdolio and Dwit Chagi) force were performed on a boxing dynamometer. Also, the following laboratory tests were performed: jump height and power output in counter movement jump (CMJ) and spike jump (SPJ), muscle strength for 10 muscle groups and force-velocity (F-v) relationship. Results: Mean maximal straight and hook punching forces were 1659.2 ± 254.2 N and 1843.8 ± 453.3 N, respectively. Maximal Apdolio rear leg, Apdolio lead leg and Dwit Chagi rear leg kicking forces were 3541.3 ± 1130.3 N, 3205.3 ± 965.1 N and 3568.0 ± 1306.0 N, respectively. The heights of jumps were 0.501 ± 0.040 m (CMJ) and 0.554 ± 0.034 m (SPJ). A strong correlation between the maximal force of a punch and maximal joint torques was observed. Conclusions: The values of kicking forces developed in a simulated fight were lower than the forces developed in the test of individual kicks. Strong relationships were observed between leg power developed in the SPJ and force of individual Apdolio kicks performed with the lead (r = 0.87, p < 0.05) and rear leg (r = 0.74). Based on these findings, it was concluded that maximal joint torques and height of the SPJ could be used as a proxy of kicking force.

01 Jan 2017TL;DR: It was already mentioned in previous sections that the Ordered Fuzzy Number model can represent a kind of tendency or direction, but for a real practical use of this feature the tools for processing it are also needed.
Abstract: It was already mentioned in previous sections that the Ordered Fuzzy Number (OFN) model can represent a kind of tendency or direction. However, for a real practical use of this feature the tools for processing it are also needed. Of course some kind of quantitative processing is provided by the definitions of calculations, but there is much more potential for this feature apart from arithmetic operations. This part presents the idea of a property of processing data called sensitivity to the direction. The main focus here is placed on the proposition of a direction determinant parameter that can be understood as a kind of measure of a direction. This determinant is a basis for the definition of such elements as the compatibility between two OFNs and also for an inference operator for a rule where the OFNs were used. The propositions of such operations are the important part of these sections of the book.
