TL;DR: In the compounds examined here, the ORP calculations on molecules containing only first-row atoms compare favorably with results from the larger aug-cc-pVTZ basis set, in some cases lying closer to the estimated CBS limit, while results for molecules containing second- row atoms indicate that larger correlation-consistent basis sets are necessary to obtain reliable estimates of the CBS limit.
Abstract: The effectiveness of the optical rotation prediction (ORP) basis set for computing specific rotations at the coupled cluster (CC) level has been evaluated for a test set of 14 chiral compounds. For this purpose, the ORP basis set has been developed for the second-row atoms present in the investigated systems (that is, for sulfur, phosphorus, and chlorine). The quality of the resulting set was preliminarily evaluated for seven molecules using time-dependent density-functional theory (TD-DFT). Rotations were calculated with the coupled cluster singles and doubles method (CCSD) as well as the second-order approximate coupled cluster singles and doubles method (CC2) with the correlation-consistent aug-cc-pVDZ and aug-cc-pVTZ basis sets and extrapolated to estimate the complete basis-set (CBS) limit for comparison with the ORP basis set. In the compounds examined here, the ORP calculations on molecules containing only first-row atoms compare favorably with results from the larger aug-cc-pVTZ basis set, in some...

TL;DR: A way to use a good arithmetical properties of Ordered Fuzzy Numbers in the process of rules adaptation for the fuzzy control system is presented.
Abstract: This paper describes a new look on adaptation of fuzzy rules in fuzzy control process. New idea is based on properties of the Ordered Fuzzy Numbers. The Ordered fuzzy nunbers (OFN) are a new model of fuzzy numbers, presented a few years ago [15]. Important property and advantage of the new model of fuzzy numbers is simple realization of arithmetical operations. Thanks to that we can get neutral element of adding and multiplication in the same way like in real numbers. Easy way of calculating on the Ordered Fuzzy Numbers makes possible to use them in a fuzzy control process. In the [21] new methods of processing information for a fuzzy control system were presented. These methods basing on arithmetic of the Ordered Fuzzy Numbers. The goal of that paper is to present a way to use a good arithmetical properties of Ordered Fuzzy Numbers in the process of rules adaptation for the fuzzy control system.

TL;DR: Fuzzy implication is proposed with the help of algebraic operations and a lattice structure defined on OFN.
Abstract: Ordered fuzzy numbers (OFN) invented by the second author and his two coworkers in 2002 make possible to utilize the fuzzy arithmetic and to construct the Abelian group of fuzzy numbers and then an ordered ring. The definition of OFN uses the extension of the parametric representation of convex fuzzy numbers. Fuzzy implication is proposed with the help of algebraic operations and a lattice structure defined on OFN.

TL;DR: Compared personality traits between never, former, and current smokers, using the Five-Factor Model of Personality in a country with a turbulent smoking reduction process, showed that current smokers’ scores for extraversion were higher relative to never smokers.
Abstract: Tobacco smoking is the single most important modifiable factor in increased morbidity and premature mortality. Numerous factors-including genetics, personality, and environment-affect the development and persistence of tobacco addiction, and knowledge regarding these factors could improve smoking cessation rates. This study compared personality traits between never, former, and current smokers, using the Five-Factor Model of Personality in a country with a turbulent smoking reduction process.: In this cross-sectional study, 909 Polish adults completed the Revised Neuroticism-Extraversion-Openness Personality Inventory. Our results showed that current smokers' scores for extraversion, one of the five global dimensions of personality, were higher relative to never smokers. Neuroticism, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness did not differ significantly according to smoking status. Facet analysis, which described each dimension in detail, showed that current smokers' activity and excitement seeking (facets of extraversion) scores were higher relative to those of never and former smokers. In turn, current smokers' dutifulness and deliberation (facets of conscientiousness) scores were lower than those found in former and never smokers. Never smokers scored the highest in self-consciousness (a facet of neuroticism) and compliance (a component of agreeableness). The study conducted among Polish individuals showed variation in personality traits according to their smoking status; however, this variation differed from that reported in countries in which efforts to reduce smoking had begun earlier relative to Poland. Knowledge regarding personality traits could be useful in designing smoking prevention and cessation programs tailored to individuals' needs.

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the literature on the possibilities for electroplating of polymer materials was presented and discussed, and the main focus was the efficiency of metal electrodeposition.
Abstract: This work is a review of the literature on the possibilities for electroplating of polymer materials. Methods of metalizing polymers and their composites were presented and discussed. Information from various publications on the electrical properties of polymers and polymer composites was collected and discussed. The most important results on the electroplating of conductive polymers and conductive composites were presented and compared. This work especially focuses on the electrical conductivity of polymer materials. The main focus was the efficiency of metal electrodeposition. Based on the analyzed publications, it was found that electrically deposited metal layers on conductive polymeric materials show discontinuity, considerable roughness, and different layer thickness depending on the distance from the contact electrode. The use of metal nanoparticles (AgNWs) or nickel nanoparticles (NiNPs) as a filler enables effective metallization of the polymer composite. Due to the high aspect ratio, it is possible to lower the percolation threshold with a low filler content in the polymer matrix. The presented review reveals many of the problems associated with the effectiveness of the electroplating methods. It indicates the need and direction for further research and development in the field of electroplating of polymer materials and modification of their electrical properties.
