TL;DR: The morphology, distribution, ecology, stage structure and sex ratio of the Arctic oribatid mite Oribatella arctica were investigated and the shape of the sensillus and the length of seta le were identified.
Abstract: In this study, the morphology, distribution, ecology, stage structure and sex ratio of the Arctic oribatid mite Oribatella arctica (Thor, 1930) were investigated. The juveniles of this species are similar to those of other species of Oribatella Banks, 1895, possessing mostly long and barbed prodorsal setae, long and barbed gastronotal setae in the larva and long, barbed peripheral gastronotal setae in the nymphs. The larva of O. arctica differs from that of most other Oribatella species principally by the shape of the sensillus and the length of seta le. Nymphs differ chiefly by the number and shape of some central setae (c1 and d-series) on the gastronotum and the attachment of the exuvial scalps of previous instars to the gastronotum. All nymphs of O. arctica have central setae c1, da and dm short and smooth, whereas the presence and shape of seta dp varies between nymphal stages (it can be long and barbed, short and smooth, alveolar or absent). Oribatella arctica nymphs rarely carry the exuvial scalps ...

TL;DR: The effects of actin dynamics regulation by four cytoskeletal tropomyosin isoforms and cofilin-1 were studied with the use of biochemical and fluorescent microscopy assays and it was concluded that the effects were executed through different actin affinities of tropomyOSinisoforms and cooperativities of tropomeosin and coFilin- 1 binding.

01 Jan 2018TL;DR: It is concluded that further study is needed to better understand the mechanisms and sources of introgression in wild boars in Poland, where high dispersal of individuals and gene flow among populations suggests mixed ancestry may be common.
Abstract: Rates of hybridization between wild and domesticated animals appear to be increasing worldwide. Recent results suggest that genetic introgression from domestic swine into European wild boar is much more common in local populations than expected, based on pan-European studies. Thus, we screened the genetic purity of 265 free-living wild boars from two hunting areas in Poland by genotyping the melanocortin receptor 1 gene (MC1R) for polymorphism. Unexpectedly, high numbers of individuals with domestic genes (24%) were identified. This suggests that mixed ancestry may be common in Polish wild boar. Among admixed individuals, backcrosses with domestic pig and/or introgressed wild boars were detected (2%). Multiple commercial domestic pig breeds are possibly involved in the introgression observed in the study populations. In addition, the absence of significant differences in the frequency of wild-type allele among two hunting areas suggests high dispersal of individuals and gene flow among populations. We conclude that further study is needed to better understand the mechanisms and sources of introgression in wild boars in Poland.

23 Sep 2014TL;DR: In this paper, structural canonical discriminant function coefficients suggest that more attention is paid to speed-strength training, the more likely improve motor fitness of the boys 6-7 class.
Abstract: Purpose — to determine the model of development of power abilities in boys 6—7 grades. Material and methods. To achieve the objectives adopted the following methods: analysis of scientific literature, educational testing and treatment methods of mathematical statistics research results. In the study involved boys 6 and 7 classes 35 and 32 people respectively. . Research results. Analysis shows that statistically significant differences in the test results of boys 6 and 7 classes observed in tests 2 «long jump from their seats, see ‘and 5’ Squat, times» (p <0,001; p <0,01 respectively). The level of motor readiness boys 6—7 class determines the development of speed-strength abilities. Conclusions. Structural canonical discriminant function coefficients suggest that more attention is paid to speed-strength training, the more likely improve motor fitness of the boys 6—7 class. The canonical discriminant function can be used for estimation and forecasting the development of motor abilities in boys 6—7 grades.
