TL;DR: A sample of CFD application, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, was used to analysis the flow and compaction of wood material and examples of speed distributions inside the feed hopper and in the working system are presented.
Abstract: The work presents the construction solution of a wood pellet machines according to the original concept. In order to determine the construction features of the machine, the SolidWorks application with simulation modules was used. The effect of these simulations was to determine the range of constructional features of the pellet machine working system. The usefulness of the CAD / CAE application in the scope of determining the acceptable range of construction features of the pellet machine was indicated .

TL;DR: In this paper, the growth by Liquid Phase Epitaxy (LPE) of Ce and Ce-Pr doped LuAG Single Crystalline Films (SCFs) onto LuAG and Y3Al5O12 (YAG) substrates were examined by X-ray diffraction.
Abstract: We performed the growth by Liquid Phase Epitaxy (LPE) of Ce and Ce-Pr doped Lu3Al5O12 (LuAG) Single Crystalline Films (SCFs) onto LuAG and Y3Al5O12 (YAG) substrates. The structural properties of LuAG:Ce and LuAG:Ce,Pr SCFs were examined by X-ray diffraction. The optical properties of the SCFs were studied through cathodoluminescence (CL) spectra, scintillation Light Yield (LY), decay kinetic under $\alpha $ –particle (Pu239) excitation, X-ray excited luminescence, thermostimulated luminescence (TSL) and afterglow measurements. The SCFs grown on LuAG substrates displayed good surface quality and structural perfection, whereas the SCFs grown on YAG substrates showed a rough surface and poorer crystalline quality, due to a large lattice mismatch between the film and the substrate (0.82%). Under $\alpha $ -particle excitation, the LY of LuAG:Ce SCF exceeded by 2 times that of the best YAG:Ce SCF sample used as reference. Under X-ray excitation, the LuAG:Ce SCF with optimized Ce concentration showed LY close (77%) to a reference YAG:Ce Single Crystal (SC) scintillator. The afterglow of LuAG:Ce and LuAG:Ce,Pr SCFs was lower (by 1 decade) than that of the tested reference LuAG:Ce SC. However there is not a complete suppression of the afterglow at room temperature (RT), despite the fact that the SCFs present much lower concentration of antisite and vacancy type defects than their SC counterparts. This can be explained by the presence in the films of other trap centers responsible for TSL above RT.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors determined the body composition and somatotype of untrained male students studying at Warsaw University of Technology in 2011, in order to create a current reference group for comparison, and to investigate the difference in body build of male judoists compared with the non-athlete group.
Abstract: Summary Study aim: The aim of this study was to determine the body composition and somatotype of untrained male students studying at Warsaw University of Technology in 2011, in order to create a current reference group for comparison, and to investigate the difference in body build of male judoists compared with the non-athlete group. Materials and methods: Fifteen male judo athletes (age 18.6 ± 1.9 years, body height 177.4 ± 8.5 cm, body mass 80.3 ± 15.8 kg, training experience 10.0 ± 2.8) and 154 male untrained students of the Warsaw University of Technology (age 20.1 ± 0.9 years, body height 180.9 ± 7.2 cm, body mass 75.6 ± 10.9 kg) participated in the study. Somatotype was determined using the Heath- Carter method. Results: The mean somatotype of the untrained students was 3.94.62.9, whilst that of the judo athletes was 3.25.91.8; the groups differed significantly in their mesomorphy and ectomorphy components. Significant differences between the groups were found in breadth of wrist, bicristal diameter and arm circumference (p < 0.05). The groups were also significantly different in body composition as estimated by BIA and anthropometric methods (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The morphological characteristics of the judo athletes differed from those of the untrained men. The somatic profile of body build for athletes in this sport seems to be optimal for achieving high results, the somatotype not having changed since the 1990s.

TL;DR: In this paper, the luminescence of F and F + centers and excitons localized around F-like centers in Al 2 O 3 host was studied. But the results of the comparative investigation of the luminecence properties of Al 2O 3 and Al 2 o 3 :C crystals under excitation by synchrotron radiation in the 3.7-15 eV range were not available.
