TL;DR: The authors introduce Transformative Curriculum Leadership (TCLL) and Cultivating Reflective Inquiry (CFI) as three fundamental challenges for 3S education. But they also highlight the need for a broader public sphere to support the 3S curriculum.

TL;DR: Support is provided for an interactive model in which rumination amplifies the deleterious effects of negative cognition.
Abstract: Response styles theory posits that rumination represents a trait vulnerability to depression. Recent evidence has suggested that rumination predicts changes in depression more strongly among individuals with high levels of negative cognition. Three studies evaluated this model of interactive vulnerabilities. Study 1 provided empirical support for the distinction between rumination and negative cognitive content. The next 2 studies investigated the interactive model in the laboratory. Study 2 randomly assigned participants to either ruminate or distract following a sad mood induction. This study found that rumination was more strongly associated with dysphoria among individuals who report high levels of negative cognition. Similarly, Study 3 found that rumination and negative cognition interact to predict changes in dysphoria across a no-task delay period following a sad mood induction. These studies provide support for an interactive model in which rumination amplifies the deleterious effects of negative cognition.

TL;DR: In this article, a facile cation exchange reaction between ZnS hollow spheres and Bi(NO3)3 was used to synthesize Bi-doped hollow spheres for H2-production.
Abstract: Bi-doped ZnS hollow spheres were successfully synthesized by a facile cation exchange reaction between ZnS hollow spheres and Bi(NO3)3. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy as well as transient photocurrent responses. The photocatalytic H2-production activity was investigated by using Na2S and Na2SO3 as sacrificial reagents in water. Even without a Pt cocatalyst, the as-prepared Bi-doped ZnS hollow spheres exhibited significant visible-light and UV-light photocatalytic activity and good stability for H2-production. The optimal content of Bi dopant was determined to be about 0.3 at% and the corresponding H2-production rate was 1030 and 134 μmol h−1 g−1 under UV and visible-light irradiation, respectively. The apparent quantum efficiency was 0.99% at 420 nm and 4.0% at 365 nm. It is suggested that doping Bi into ZnS generated an isolated state originating from Bi 6s above the top of the valence band of ZnS, and the electron excitation from Bi 6s state to the conduction band occurred upon irradiation with visible light. Furthermore, the UV-light photocatalytic H2 evolution activity over Bi-doped ZnS hollow spheres is even higher than that of Pt/ZnS counterparts. This is ascribed to the fact that the Bi doping facilitates the separation of photogenerated electron–hole pairs and reduces their recombination rate.

TL;DR: In this paper, an audience-centered and society-based framework for examining mass communication processes has been proposed, where the nature of media dependency, the origins of dependency, audience needs and motives, audience-media-society relationships, functional alternatives, information seeking, and media effects are discussed.
Abstract: This essay responds to the individualistic criticism of the uses and gratifications perspective by considering social‐structural conditions that affect media uses and effects, and by proposing an audience‐centered and society‐based framework for examining mass communication processes. The nature of media dependency, the origins of dependency, audience needs and motives, audience‐media‐society relationships, functional alternatives, information seeking, and media effects are discussed as central concepts of the uses and dependency model of mass communication.

TL;DR: The crystal structure of Escherichia coli tRNAfMet an initiator transfer RNA, has been determined, and while grossly similar to that of the chain-elongating yeast tRNAPhe, there are three major differences.
Abstract: The crystal structure of Escherichia coli tRNAfMet an initiator transfer RNA, has been determined. While grossly similar to that of the chain-elongating yeast tRNAPhe, there are three major differences. One involves the folding of the anticodon loop; in particular, the position of the constant uridine, U33. This difference was unexpected and may be of functional significance.
