TL;DR: In this article, the enantiomers of fourteen O, O,O,dialkyl, 2,benzyl-oxycarbonyl-aminoaryl methyl-phosphonates are directly separated on tris(3,5dimethylphenylcarbamate) amylose chiral stationary phases, known as Chiralcel AD.
Abstract: The enantiomers of fourteen O,O‐dialkyl‐2‐benzyl‐oxycarbonyl‐aminoaryl‐ methyl‐phosphonates are directly separated on tris(3,5‐dimethyl‐phenylcarbamate) amylose chiral stationary phases, known as Chiralcel AD. All of the selected compounds are baseline separated. The influence of the position and properties of substituents in benzene rings, the length and steric hindrance of alkoxyl groups of the phosphonate ester on the chiral separation are discussed. When the substituents are in the para‐position of the benzene ring, the separation factor is in the following order α p‐NO2 ≫ α p‐Cl > α p‐CH3 > α p‐H > α p‐OCH3 . When the same substituent is in a different position of the benzene ring, the order of the separation factor is α p‐Cl > α m‐Cl and α p‐NO2 ≫ α m‐NO2 . The values of the separation factor α of the enantiomers where R 1 substituent is a hydrogen (R 1 = H) are always smaller than those of the enantiomers with p‐Cl substituent, whether R 2 was Me, Et, Pr or i‐Pr. Compounds with differen...

TL;DR: A simple, fast, inexpensive, and reproducible method was developed for the analysis of cerivastatin in human plasma and identification of its metabolite by capillary electrophoresis (CE) as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A simple, fast, inexpensive, and reproducible method was developed for the analysis of cerivastatin in human plasma and identification of its metabolite by capillary electrophoresis (CE). The back ground electrolyte (BGE) used was phosphate buffer (50 mM, pH 3.5) with 15 kV as the applied voltage. The detection was achieved by using UV mode at 254 nm and the detection limit of cerivastatin and its metabolite was approximately 5 µg mL−1. The separation and resolution factors were 1.07 and 4.01, respectively. The recovery of cerivastatin from plasma using SPE was 80%.

TL;DR: This case study focuses on the steps taken to help a patient who was found to have very unusual symptoms and was later finding to have superior mesenteric artery syndrome.
Abstract: Sanjad-Sakati syndrome (SSS) is an autosomal recessive disorder found exclusively in people of Arabian origin. It was first reported in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1988 and confirmed by a definitive report in 1991. The syndrome comprises of congenital hypoparathyroidism, seizures, severe growth and developmental retardation, low IQ, and atypical facial features. Supportive treatment in the form of vitamin D and growth hormone supplementation is often offered to patients suffering from SSS. This case study focuses on the steps taken to help a patient who was found to have very unusual symptoms and was later found to have superior mesenteric artery syndrome.

TL;DR: In this paper, a rapid and sensitive TLC method was developed and validated for the analysis of salbutamol and identification of its related impurities compounds, where a TLC plastic plate precoated with silica gel was used as the stationary phase.
Abstract: A rapid and sensitive TLC method was developed and validated for the analysis of salbutamol and identification of its related impurities compounds. Spectro-densitometric scanning-integration was performed at an absorbance wave length of 254 nm. To justify the suitability of the proposed method, accuracy, precision and recovery studies were performed at three selected concentrations levels. The recovery data reveals that the RSD for intra-day and inter-day analysis were found to be 4.86 and 1.23%, respectively. A TLC plastic plate precoated with silica gel was used as the stationary phase. The solvent system was acetonitrile : methanol : ammonium hydroxide (10 : 85 : 5 v/v/v) gave a dense and compact spots of salbutamol and related impurities compounds namely: isopropyl salbutamol, desoxy salbutamol base, salbutamol ketone hydrochloride and 5-formyl saligenin salbutamol with a Rf values of 0.1, 0.26, 0.35, 0.54 and 0.75 respectively. The calibration plots exhibited good linear relationship (r = 0.9996) ove...
