TL;DR: The results showed that the contribution of the quadratic model was significant for all the responses and second-order mathematical regression models were developed and were found to fit well with observed data.
Abstract: The objective of the present study is to find out the optimum extraction conditions for extraction of polyphenols from red grapes using Box–Behnken design. Red grapes polyphenols were extracted using acid–ethanol solvent at various extraction temperature (40–60°C), extraction time (20–100 min) and different solid–liquid ratio (1:5–1:15 g:ml). The effect (main and interactive) of extraction conditions on total anthocyanin, phenolic and flavonoid content were studied using Box–Behnken design (three factors at three levels). The results showed that the contribution of the quadratic model was significant for all the responses. Second-order mathematical regression models were developed and were found to fit well with observed data. Derringer's desirability function methodology was performed to find out the optimal conditions based on both individual and combinations of all responses (extraction temperature: 57°C, time: 61 min, and solid–liquid ratio: 1:8.7 g:ml) were established. At this optimal condition, the...

TL;DR: An integrated approach for selecting appropriate lean tools in reliable lean perspective to enhance critical resources like people, equipment, material and schedule for being efficient in the competitive market is proposed.
Abstract: Lean Manufacturing (LM) is a well-established system to improve performance of any manufacturing industry by eliminating wastes through globally accepted tools and techniques. Industries are trying to adapt lean principles in order to optimise the resources like people, equipment, material and schedule for being efficient in the competitive market. This paper proposes an integrated approach for selecting appropriate lean tools in reliable lean perspective to enhance these critical resources. The approach exercise a hybrid model which uses fuzzy QFD to prioritise the critical resources in relation with identified wastes and fuzzy FMEA to assess the risk associated with each sub elements to address lean implementation. For waste identification, plant layout and Value Stream Mapping are considered. The model is demonstrated based on the data collected from a manufacturing industry to illustrate the application. Significant improvements are quantified with the help of future state map and plant layout.

TL;DR: This paper provides a detailed survey of QoS routing protocols in MANETs and aims at finding a feasible path that satisfies QoS constraints like bandwidth, end-to-end delay, jitter, energy etc.
Abstract: A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) consists of a collection of mobile nodes that communicate in a multi-hop way without a fixed infrastructure. Owing to its uniqueness such as easy deployment and self-organizing ability, it has shown great potential in many civil and military applications. As MANETs are gaining popularity, their need to support real time and multimedia applications is rising as well. Such applications have Quality of Service (QoS) requirements like bandwidth, end-to-end delay, jitter and energy. Consequently, it becomes very necessary for MANETs to have an efficient routing and QoS mechanism to support these applications. QoS provisioning for MANET can be done over different layers starting from the physical layer up to the application layer. This paper mainly looks at the problem of QoS provisioning in the perception of network layer. QoS routing aims at finding a feasible path that satisfies QoS constraints like bandwidth, end-to-end delay, jitter, energy etc. This paper provides a detailed survey of QoS routing protocols in MANETs.

TL;DR: In this paper, the dry sliding wear behavior of the composites in the cast conditions is examined using the pin-on-disc tribotesting machine for three different loads (20, 30, and 40 N) with three different sliding velocities (2, 3, and 4 N).
Abstract: Rice husk ash of three different particle size ranges (50–75, 75–100 and 100–150 μm) a 3, 6, 9, and 12% by weight is reinforced with an aluminum alloy (AlSi10Mg) using the liquid metallurgy method. The dry sliding wear behavior of the composites in the cast conditions is examined using the pin-on-disc tribotesting machine for three different loads (20, 30, and 40 N) with three different sliding velocities (2, 3, and 4 m/s). The results reveal that the composite reinforced with the coarse rice husk ash particles exhibits superior wear resistance compared to the fine rice husk ash particles. The wear rate of the composite decreased with an increase in the weight percentage of rice husk ash particles for all size ranges. Finally, the wear mechanism was investigated with the worn surface using a scanning electron microscope.
