Abstract: A new series of Dy3+-doped alkali fluoroborophosphate glasses were prepared by conventional melt quenching technique, and their structural and optical properties were investigated through XRD, FTIR, optical absorption, luminescence and decay measurements. The X-ray diffraction pattern reveals the amorphous nature of the prepared glasses. The fundamental stretching vibrations of various borate (BO3 and BO4) and phosphate (PO4) networks were identified through the FTIR analysis. The nature of the metal–ligand bonding and the electronic band structure has been investigated using the absorption spectra. The Judd–Oflet (JO) intensity parameters (Ω2, Ω4 and Ω6) were evaluated, and the experimental oscillator strength values were also calculated. Using the JO intensity parameters, radiative properties like radiative transition probability (A) stimulated emission cross section $$\left( {\sigma_{\text{p}}^{\text{E}} } \right)$$ and branching ratios $$\left( {\beta_{\text{R}} } \right)$$ for the emission transitions of the Dy3+ ions have been calculated. The luminescence spectra exhibit two visible bands of 4F9/2 → 6H15/2 (Blue) and 4F9/2 → 6H13/2 (Yellow). The decay time of the 4F9/2 level has been measured from the decay profiles and compared with the calculated lifetimes. The yellow-to-blue (Y/B) ratios and color coordinates have been calculated from the luminescence spectra and can be considered for white light emitting diodes applications.

TL;DR: In this article, the static, dynamic and machinability properties of Sansevieria ehrenbergii fiber-reinforced polyester composites were compared with traditionally available materials like plywood, hardboard sheet, paper board and twisted paper according to ASTM standards.
Abstract: The static, dynamic (like storage modulus and damping behaviour (tanδ)), thermal, hardness and machinability properties of Sansevieria ehrenbergii fiber-reinforced polyester composites were compared with traditionally available materials like plywood, hardboard sheet, paper board and twisted paper according to ASTM standards. The stress-strain curves of the polyester composites and traditionally available materials were analysed, and the results show that the best tensile, flexural and impact properties were achieved with KMnO4-treated S. ehrenbergii fiber-reinforced polyester composites. The storage modulus of hardboard sheet and KMnO4-treated S. ehrenbergii fiber-reinforced polyester composite was the highest in the glassy and rubbery regions. The tanδ peak height was minimum and peak width was maximum for hardboard sheet and KMnO4-treated S. ehrenbergii fiber-reinforced polyester composites. The thermal stability and hardness of the hardboard sheet were the highest compared to S. ehrenbergii fiber-rein...

TL;DR: A hardware system which can be used to chase the birds from the farm by using an embedded technology using Kalman filter, a predictive filter that dependent on space techniques and recursive algorithms using image processing tools in Matlab environment.
Abstract: Objective: This paper discusses about the development of hardware system which can be used to chase the birds from the farm by using an embedded technology. Methods: The system is able to detect and track the pest birds from the real time video frame using Kalman filter. The Kalman filter is a predictive filter, that dependent on space techniques and recursive algorithms using image processing tools in Matlab environment. The various states of operation of a dynamic system are estimated using this algorithm. Applications/Improvements: The proposed system has been simulated in Matlab. It can be extended to a complete the bird frightening system by incorporating the video processing algorithm with hardware such as camera, linux based embedded board and ultrasound generator. The video obtained from the camera is processed using the ARM7 Raspberry Pi board based on linux OS. This system detects the birds from the video and a high frequency ultrasound is generated and directed towards the pest birds to drive them away from the farm.

TL;DR: This paper has presented an algorithm for multi-relational rule mining using association rule mining and the optimization process, and showed that the proposed approach has better efficiency over the previous approaches.
Abstract: The multi relational data mining is one of the latest topics in data mining to find the relational patterns. In this paper, we have presented an algorithm for multi-relational rule mining using association rule mining and the optimization process. As a result of the association rule mining on the multirelational data, a number of relevant and irrelevant rules are generated. A rule is specified as a relation between two data points in the dataset. So, an optimization should be done on the mining algorithm in order to get the most relevant rules. We have adapted the technique of genetic algorithm in order to optimize the mined multi relational association rules. The genetic algorithm is one of the best optimization algorithm available and it suites the current problem because of its particular features such as the genetic operators crossover and mutation. The optimization of the rule is done by altering the fitness function of the genetic algorithm in relation with the multi relational data mining algorithm. The results from the experimental analysis showed that the proposed approach has better efficiency over the previous approaches. The most rules optimized is 198 under iterations 10 with a support of 60.
