TL;DR: This paper proposes an algorithm called Fast AutoAugment that finds effective augmentation policies via a more efficient search strategy based on density matching that speeds up the search time by orders of magnitude while achieves comparable performances on image recognition tasks with various models and datasets.
Abstract: Data augmentation is an essential technique for improving generalization ability of deep learning models. Recently, AutoAugment has been proposed as an algorithm to automatically search for augmentation policies from a dataset and has significantly enhanced performances on many image recognition tasks. However, its search method requires thousands of GPU hours even for a relatively small dataset. In this paper, we propose an algorithm called Fast AutoAugment that finds effective augmentation policies via a more efficient search strategy based on density matching. In comparison to AutoAugment, the proposed algorithm speeds up the search time by orders of magnitude while achieves comparable performances on image recognition tasks with various models and datasets including CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, SVHN, and ImageNet.

TL;DR: The utilization of the active Cu2S NCs through direct binding with the conductive MWCNTs would lead to excellent performance of these nanodevices.
Abstract: Single-crystalline copper sulfide (β-Cu2S) nanocrystals (NCs) were grown in situ on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) by the solvothermal method. The morphology of the Cu2S NCs was varied from spherical particles (av size = 4 nm) to triangular plates (av size = 12 nm) by increasing the concentration of the precursors. The lattice matching between Cu2S and the MWCNTs would be an important factor in the growth of Cu2S NCs on the MWCNTs. The solar cells and the amperometric glucose sensors fabricated using these Cu2S−MWCNT hybrid nanostructures respond more sensitively than those using the Cu2S NCs (or MWCNTs) alone. The utilization of the active Cu2S NCs through direct binding with the conductive MWCNTs would lead to excellent performance of these nanodevices.

TL;DR: This study did not show significant difference regarding the rate of MACCE between patients who underwent PCI with a sirolimus-eluting stent and those who underwent CABG during 5 years of follow-up, however, considering the limited power of the study, the results should be interpreted with caution.

TL;DR: In this paper, a search for the standard model Higgs boson decaying to bb¯ when produced in association with a weak vector boson (V) is reported for the following channels: W(μν)H, W(eν), W(τν), H, Z(μμ), Z(ee, H, and Z(νν), where the search is performed in data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1 inverse femtobarns at s√=7
Abstract: A search for the standard model Higgs boson (H) decaying to bb¯ when produced in association with a weak vector boson (V) is reported for the following channels: W(μν)H, W(eν)H, W(τν)H, Z(μμ)H, Z(ee)H, and Z(νν)H. The search is performed in data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1 inverse femtobarns at s√=7 TeV and up to 18.9 fb−1 at s√=8 TeV, recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC. An excess of events is observed above the expected background with a local significance of 2.1 standard deviations for a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV, consistent with the expectation from the production of the standard model Higgs boson. The signal strength corresponding to this excess, relative to that of the standard model Higgs boson, is 1.0±0.5.
