TL;DR: Investigation in mouse model suggests that compounds 8b and 8e have the potency to activate caspase activated DNase (endonuclease) which is responsible for DNA fragmentation, a primary hallmark of apoptosis and thereby inhibits the Dalton's lymphoma ascites tumour growth.

TL;DR: Rubber wood was esterfied with the fatty acid chlorides, and the dimensional stability and photo-stability of the modified wood was evaluated as discussed by the authors, which indicated formation of an ester.
Abstract: Rubber wood was esterfied with the fatty acid chlorides (hexanoyl (C6), decanoyl (C10) and tetradecanoyl (C14) chloride), and the dimensional stability and photo-stability of the modified wood was evaluated. 13C NMR and FTIR spectral analysis of modified wood indicated formation of an ester. 13C NMR spectra of modified wood showed that esterification reduced the crystallinity of wood. Modification was effective in reducing light-induced color changes (photo-yellowing) at wood surfaces. In contrast to unmodified wood, modified wood did not darken. However, modified wood exhibited photobleaching, which is indicated by increase in L* (lightness) values accompanied by decrease in b* values of modified wood upon light irradiation. The effectiveness increased with increase in carbon chain length of fatty acid chlorides. The volumetric swelling coefficients of modified wood were less than that of the unmodified specimen. Anti Swelling Efficiency (ASE) of wood was improved by substituting the hydrophilic...

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of nonlinear thermal radiation on Casson nanofluid flow between parallel plates is investigated and an appropriate transformation is applied to alter PDEs into ODEs and then tackled numerically by employing RKF-45.
Abstract: Mathematical modeling to study the effect of nonlinear thermal radiation on Casson nanofluid flow between parallel plates is established. Second order velocity slip condition is implemented at the boundary of the lower plate. An appropriate transformation is applied to alter the PDEs into ODEs and then tackled numerically by employing RKF-45. The consequence of several prevailed parameters on the Casson nanoliquid velocity components, temperature and concentration fields are portrayed graphically and deliberated in detail. Velocity component decreases near the region of lower plate while it increases along the upper plate region for magnetic and slip parameter whereas opposite behavior is obtained for the Casson parameter for the same component.

TL;DR: In this paper, a combined effect of thermal radiation and viscous dissipation over a melting moving surface is investigated, where the Brownian motion and thermophoresis in Buogiorno's type nanofluid are retained.
Abstract: A combined effect of thermal radiation and viscous dissipation over a melting moving surface is investigated. Casson liquid model is accounted as working liquid. The Brownian motion and thermophoresis in Buogiorno’s type nanofluid are retained. Numerical solutions are obtained for the reduced ordinary differential equations via RKF 45 method. The pertinent parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration are analyzed through plots and tables. Output demonstrated that higher values of melting, thermal radiation and viscous dissipation are enhanced the temperature. Validation of the present work is made with the existing literature.

TL;DR: In this article, the electrochemical determination of two major phenolic moieties namely catechol (CC) and hydroquinone (HQ) was performed at poly (Evans blue) modified carbon paste electrode by cyclic voltammetry in the PBS (0.2m) at pH 7.4, with the sweep rate of 50mV/s.
