TL;DR: Various aspects that are embraced by the terms information and knowledge management are identified to contribute to more terminological clarity and finally improve communication both in science and in professional practice.
Abstract: Though literature on information and knowledge management is vast, there is much confusion concerning the meaning of these terms. According to the literature review, technology-oriented information management includes data management, information technology management and strategic information technology management. The main emphasis of these approaches is the effective and efficient use of information technology. In contrast, content-oriented approaches focus on information and its use. They can be distinguished in records management, provision of external information, human-centered information management, and information resources management. The reading of the literature on knowledge management reveals that this term is either used synonymously for information management or for the management of work practices with the goal of improving the generation of new knowledge and the sharing of existing knowledge. This article identifies various aspects that are embraced by the terms information and knowledge management. Thus, it should contribute to more terminological clarity and finally improve communication both in science and in professional practice. In this sense, the author hopes that this article will not only contribute to more terminological clarity but have further positive implications.

TL;DR: The extract of Curvularia lunata showed antimicrobial nature against all the test pathogens and is highly active against Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans.
Abstract: Cymbopogon caesius grass is an aromatic tall grass species which grows in waste field and along the edges of crop fields in Karnataka. From this grass fungal endophytes were isolated on PDA medium and identified as Curvularia lunata. The fungus was cultured on Potato Dextrose broth for production of fungal metabolites. Ethyl acetate extract of the C. lunata was obtained by liquid-liquid partition of broth of endophyte and evaporation. Dried crude extract was tested for antimicrobial activity by agar well diffusion method. The extract showed antimicrobial nature against all the test pathogens. Crude extract of C. lunata is highly active against Staphylococcus aureus with the inhibition percentage of 92 and Candida albicans with 81 percent inhibition.

TL;DR: In this article, the heat transfer and entropy generation in a MHD flow of Casson fluid through a porous micro-channel with thermal radiation were investigated numerically by using fourth-fifth-order Runge-Kutta integration method along with shooting technique.
Abstract: The heat transfer and entropy generation in a MHD flow of Casson fluid through a porous microchannel with thermal radiation were investigated numerically. Combined effects of suction/injection, hydrodynamic slip, magnetic field and convective boundary condition on the heat transfer and entropy generation are studied. The dimensionless equations are solved numerically by using fourth-fifth-order Runge–Kutta integration method along with shooting technique. Moreover, influences of pertinent parameters on velocity, temperature and entropy generation were discussed in detail and illustrated graphically. Based on numerical results, we can see that, entropy generation rate increases with an increase in radiation parameter and Biot number. As Hartmann number increases, the entropy generation decreases at the both cooled and heated plates and increases at the centerline region of the microchannel.

TL;DR: The studies clearly refute the general belief that T. palmi is a single cosmopolitan and polyphagous species and show that there are two major groups: one is clearly associated with Indian population of T.Palmi and the second is associated with the remaining countries (Japan, Thailand, Dominican Republic, China, and U.K.).
Abstract: Nearly 6000 species of thrips have been described and only 12 species are reported to be vectors of tospoviruses (Bunyaviridae) globally In this regard, Thrips palmi and Scirtothrips dorsalis are two important vectors of Watermelon Bud Necrosis Virus (WBNV) and Peanut Yellow Spot Virus (PYSV) to watermelon and groundnut respectively in India. Accurate and timely identification of thrips vectors in the early developmental stages is important for understanding the epidemiology of tospoviruses, their management and also in quarantine. Morphological identification of thrips often has been a stumbling block in the absence of trained personnel. Using the tools of molecular biology, morphological identification is further strengthened by developing species-specific markers, which can differentiate the above two species of thrips based on the PCR amplicon size. Molecular studies can elucidate the occurrence of biotypes or cryptic species, if any. In this study, we examined genetic differences in COI amo...
