TL;DR: In the present study, bluetongue virus (BTV)-induced apoptosis was studied in sheep blood and splenic mononuclear cells by analyzing annexin(+)-propidium iodide(-) early apoptotic cells, DNA ladder pattern, and caspase-3 gene expression to indicate involvement of BTV and IFN-alpha in the pathogenesis of BT.

TL;DR: A novel series of thiazolo[3,2-a]benzimidazole derivatives containing benzofuran nucleus (5a–l) have been synthesized and the compounds 3a, 3b and 5i have emerged as active anthelmintic agents with maximum binding affinity.
Abstract: A novel series of thiazolo[3,2-a]benzimidazole derivatives containing benzofuran nucleus (5a–l) have been synthesized. The key intermediate, substituted benzimidazol-sulfanyl benzofuran ethanone (3a–d) was prepared by refluxing the mixture of substituted 2-acetyl benzofuran and substituted 2-mercaptobenzimidazole in acetic acid. The cyclisation of compounds (3a–d) using polyphosphoric acid furnished the corresponding 6-substituted benzofuran thiazolo[3,2-a]benzimidazoles (4a–d). Further, the cyclized compounds (4a–d) were subjected for Mannich reaction to give corresponding Mannich bases (5a–l). All newly synthesized compounds were screened for antifungal and anthelmintic activity. Amongst the tested compounds, 4b and 4d exhibited potential antifungal activity. From the anthelmintic activity data, it was found that the compounds 3a, 3b and 5i were found to be more effective against the tested earthworm Pheretima posthuma. In correlation to anthelmintic activity, the selected compounds were subjected for molecular docking studies and the compounds 3a and 5i have emerged as active anthelmintic agents with maximum binding affinity (−3.7 and −5.4 kcal/mol).

TL;DR: In this paper, the nanocrystalline nickel oxide (NiO) particles have been successfully prepared by a simple, fast, economical, and eco-friendly solution-combustion method using Ni(NO3)2 · 6H2O (oxidizer) and sugar (dextrose as fuel).
Abstract: The nanocrystalline nickel oxide (NiO) particles have been successfully prepared by a simple, fast, economical, and eco-friendly solution-combustion method using Ni(NO3)2 · 6H2O (oxidizer) and sugar (dextrose as fuel). The as-prepared compound was calcined for an hour at different temperatures. The synthesized NiO was characterized by XRD, TGA, SEM/EDX, TEM, XPS, FT-IR, and UV–Vis spectral methods. The crystallite sizes of the NiO particles were measured. Rietveld refinement of X-ray data matches the cubic structure with space group of Fm3m (No. 225). The thermal behavior of as-prepared compound was examined. Scanning electron micrographs show uniform cubic like morphology of NiO and its chemical composition was measured. The TEM results reveal that the particle sizes were in the order of 70–80 nm. The red shift was noticed in UV–Vis absorption spectra. As an application part the ZnNiO composite coating was prepared by electrodeposition method and its corrosion behavior was analyzed by Tafel, impedance and anodic polarization in aggressive medium.

TL;DR: In this article, nanocrystalline zinc coatings were deposited from acid zincate bath containing newly synthesized condensation product, and the effect of bath constituents, pH, temperature and current density on the deposit nature were investigated through Hull cell experiments.
Abstract: Nanocrystalline zinc coatings were deposited from acid zincate bath containing newly synthesized condensation product. The effect of bath constituents, pH, temperature and current density on the deposit nature were investigated through Hull cell experiments. Current efficiency, throwing power, cathodic polarization and corrosion behavior in 3.5 wt.% NaCl were studied under optimum concentration of additives. Salt spray test and electrochemical measurements showed that nanocrystalline zinc coatings have better corrosion resistance than the zinc coatings deposited from a simple acid zincate bath without additive. The surface morphology and thickness (cross section) of the zinc deposits were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The preferred orientation and average grain size of the zinc electrodeposit were obtained by X-ray diffraction analysis. The particle size was also characterized by TEM analysis. Energy X-ray diffraction (EDX) and FT-IR spectral analysis were carried out to determine the inclusion of addition agent in the deposit. The experimental results indicated that the addition of condensation product of thiamine hydrochloride (THC) and furfural (FFL) leads to a more uniform nanocrystalline deposition with the grain sizes varying from 20–22 nm.

TL;DR: Compound 6a has extensively inhibited the Microvessel Density or tumoral neovasculature which was evident from the CD31 immuno staining and peritoneal H&E staining, and the major reason for the antiproliferative activity of compound 6a was due to the repression of tumor vasculature.
