TL;DR: It is proposed that glial cells are components of a BM niche and maintain HSC hibernation by regulating activation of latent TGF-β, which is produced as a latent form by a variety of cells.

TL;DR: E. coli seems to use complementary strategies that result in a metabolic network robust against perturbations, and actively regulated enzyme levels to maintain a stable metabolic state in response to changes in growth rate.
Abstract: Analysis of cellular components at multiple levels of biological information can provide valuable functional insights. We performed multiple high-throughput measurements to study the response of Escherichia coli cells to genetic and environmental perturbations. Analysis of metabolic enzyme gene disruptants revealed unexpectedly small changes in messenger RNA and proteins for most disruptants. Overall, metabolite levels were also stable, reflecting the rerouting of fluxes in the metabolic network. In contrast, E. coli actively regulated enzyme levels to maintain a stable metabolic state in response to changes in growth rate. E. coli thus seems to use complementary strategies that result in a metabolic network robust against perturbations.

TL;DR: Results showed that induction of apatite-forming ability on titanium metal could be attained by anodic oxidation conjoined with heat treatment, and it was believed that anodic oxide in H(2)SO(4) solution was an effective way to prepare bioactive titanium.

TL;DR: Although IgG4RD forms a distinct, clinically independent disease category and is attracting strong attention as a new clinical entity, many questions and problems still remain to be elucidated, including its pathogenesis, the establishment of diagnostic criteria, and the role of IgG 4.
Abstract: IgG4-related disease (IgG4RD) is a novel clinical disease entity characterized by elevated serum IgG4 concentration and tumefaction or tissue infiltration by IgG4-positive plasma cells. IgG4RD may be present in a certain proportion of patients with a wide variety of diseases, including Mikulicz’s disease, autoimmune pancreatitis, hypophysitis, Riedel thyroiditis, interstitial pneumonitis, interstitial nephritis, prostatitis, lymphadenopathy, retroperitoneal fibrosis, inflammatory aortic aneurysm, and inflammatory pseudotumor. Although IgG4RD forms a distinct, clinically independent disease category and is attracting strong attention as a new clinical entity, many questions and problems still remain to be elucidated, including its pathogenesis, the establishment of diagnostic criteria, and the role of IgG4. Here we describe the concept of IgG4RD and up-to-date information on this emerging disease entity.

TL;DR: The gamman-->K(+)K(-)n reaction on 12C has been studied by measuring both K+ and K- at forward angles and a sharp baryon resonance peak was observed, consistent with an antidecuplet of baryons predicted by the chiral soliton model.
Abstract: The $\ensuremath{\gamma}n\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}n$ reaction on $^{12}\mathrm{C}$ has been studied by measuring both ${K}^{+}$ and ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ at forward angles. A sharp baryon resonance peak was observed at $1.54\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.01\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{G}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}/{c}^{2}$ with a width smaller than $25\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{M}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}/{c}^{2}$ and a Gaussian significance of $4.6\ensuremath{\sigma}$. The strangeness quantum number ($S$) of the baryon resonance is $+1$. It can be interpreted as a molecular meson-baryon resonance or alternatively as an exotic five-quark state ($uudd\overline{s}$) that decays into a ${K}^{+}$ and a neutron. The resonance is consistent with the lowest member of an antidecuplet of baryons predicted by the chiral soliton model.
