Abstract: The major flavonol glycosides of ripe blackcurrants (Ribes nigrum cv. Silvergieters Schwarze), myricetin 3-β-d-glucopyranoside, rutin, and isoquercitrin, have been isolated in crystalline form. Analysis by thin-layer chromatography confirmed the occurrence of the 3-rutinosides and 3-glucosides of cyanidin and delphinidin. No free flavonoid aglycones could, however, be detected in the fresh berries. The major constituent fluorescing blue under ultraviolet light on paper and cellulose thin-layer chromatograms, was isolated and characterized as 1O-caffeyl-β-d-glucopyranose. Also isolated were 1-O-ferulyl-and 1-O-p-coumaryl-β-d-glucopyranose. The occurrence of hydroxycinnamyl-d-glucoses in black-currants does not appear to have been recognized previously.

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic properties of thin nickel films were studied by means of ferromagnetic resonance spectroscopy under ultrahigh vacuum conditions (p -8 Pa) and they were shown to change reversibly with hydrogen pressure and temperature, which is in good agreement with well-known thermodynamic data.

TL;DR: In this article, the layout and operation experience of five closed air turbine plants, being in operation in the FRG, are discussed. And special items in the layout of the heaters with respect to the different fuels are shown; the perspectives for further design are discussed; and the operation experience gained with these plants is discussed.
Abstract: In recent years the constructors as well as the users of municipal and industrial power plants have shown a rising interest in the closed-cycle gas turbine. Because of its ability to deliver a large amount of heat without restrictions to the electric power generation, the closed-cycle gas turbine is most favorably qualified for central district heating of large residential quarters. In this paper these aspects of the closed-cycle will be illustrated in the frame of five closed air turbine plants, being in operation in the FRG. The layout of and the operation experience gained with these plants will be discussed. These municipal and industrial power plants are fueled by coal, oil, gas, or even mixtures of these. The special items in the layout of the heaters with respect to the different fuels are shown; the perspectives for further design are discussed.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors found that the contents of the leaves and pods of peas are influenced particularly by the amount of light irradiation received, while varietal differences appear to be of lesser importance.
Abstract: The flavonol contents of the leaves and pods of peas are influenced particularly by the amount of light irradiation received, while varietal differences appear to be of lesser importance. The seeds contain only traces of flavonols (< 1 part/106). Broad beans on the other hand contain ca 30–70 parts/106 of flavonols, determined as kaempferol, quercetin and myricetin after hydrolysis of the respective glycosides. The flavonols are localised mainly in the skin. No myricetin could be detected in the pods and leaves.

TL;DR: Plants without, or with only a partial, rest period, are more susceptible to heat damage than plants in full rest (middle of October–November), and forcing-temperatures of 22–24°C gave the highest growth rates.
