TL;DR: It is shown that the functional topography of the CC can be explored with fMRI, and activation foci were consistently detected in discrete CC regions: anterior, central, central and posterior, and splenium.

01 Mar 2010TL;DR: It is found that the different topographic features were apparently responsible for significant differences in the abundance and distribution of the rare meiofaunal taxa (i.e. taxa accounting for%).
Abstract: Metazoan meiofaunal abundance, total biomass, nematode size and the richness of taxa were investigated along bathymetric gradients (from the shelf break down to ca. 5000-m depth) in six submarine canyons and on five adjacent open slopes of three deep-sea regions. The investigated areas were distributed along >2500 km, on the Portuguese to the Catalan and South Adriatic margins. The Portuguese and Catalan margins displayed the highest abundances, biomass and richness of taxa, while the lowest values were observed in the Central Mediterranean Sea. The comparison between canyons and the nearby open slopes showed the lack of significant differences in terms of meiofaunal abundance and biomass at any sampling depth. In most canyons and on most slopes, meiofaunal variables did not display consistent bathymetric patterns. Conversely, we found that the different topographic features were apparently responsible for significant differences in the abundance and distribution of the rare meiofaunal taxa (i.e. taxa accounting for

TL;DR: Overall sensitivity and specificity of elastography was higher than expected, but despite the small sample and the fact that it does not include the full range of cell types, tumour cell composition seemed to affect accuracy.
Abstract: PURPOSE To assess the diagnostic accuracy of elastography in characterising nodular breast lesions MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 82 patients who received mammographic, ultrasonographic and elastographic evaluation in a single session at two Italian centres (Dept of Radiology, Az Ospedali Riuniti, Ancona, and Ospedale Valduce, Como, Italy) between January and August 2004 according to identical protocols exhibited 91 nodules that were subjected to cytological/histological examination Lesions were classified and scored and the sensitivity and specificity of elastography calculated RESULTS Overall sensitivity and specificity were 79% and 89%, respectively However, sensitivity was 86% and 65% and specificity 100% and 62% for lesions 2 cm in diameter, respectively Despite the small sample and the fact that it does not include the full range of cell types, tumour cell composition seemed to affect accuracy CONCLUSIONS Elastography is easy and rapid to perform Larger studies are needed to establish semiological patterns; despite the small patient sample, these data provide an interesting contribution

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the environmental impacts related to the production of cotton yarn from cultivation to washing and drying, when cotton is supplied by four companies located in four different countries (Egypt, China, India and the USA).

TL;DR: AD in its current technological level is not a guarantee for complete removal of VAs, ARGs and MGEs from manure Consequently, intensive management strategies need to be designed to increase removal efficiency at the different manure management points along the anaerobic digestion process.
