A new approach to the analysis of steady‐state space‐charge‐limited currents using their activation energies. An application to a‐As2Se3

Abstract: Space-charge-limited (SCL) currents in materials with quasicontinuous energy distribution of localized states are discussed. A simple analytical method is developed enabling to extract quantitative information about an arbitrary energetic distribution of localized states from a single experimental SCL current-voltage characteristic. The energy dominating the statistics of trapped carriers is determined from the voltage dependence of the activation energy of SCL current. The applicability of the method is illustrated on (a-As2Se3) using heterostructures (a-As2Se3)/(c-CdSe). Es werden raumladungsbegrenzte Strome (SCL) in Materialien mit quasikontinuierlicher Energieverteilung der lokalisierten Zustande diskutiert. Eine einfache analytische Methode wird entwickelt, um quantitative Informationen uber eine beliebige energetische Verteilung der lokalisierten Zustande aus einer einzigen experimentellen SCL-Strom-Spannungskurve zu bestimmen. Die die Statistik der angehafteten Ladungstrager dominierende Energie wird aus der Spannungsabhangigkeit der Aktivierungsenergie des SCL-Stroms bestimmt. Die Anwendbarkeit der Methode wird an (a-As2Se3) mittels Heterostrukturen von (a-As2Se3)/(c-CdSe) illustriert.

Prevalence of Psychosomatic Disorders in Schizophrenic Patients in Poland

Abstract: Epidemiological and prevalence studies may be useful in the exploration of the nature and pathogenesis of mental disorders particularly when certain illnesses are mutually exclusive. While we are far from total awareness about the nature and the causes of psychosomatic disorders, many clues have been suggested which shed some light upon their pathogenesis. One of these is a long-standing and repeatedly proposed hypothesis that the classical psychosomatic disorders and schizophrenia are mutually exclusive.

Spatial and Verbal Displays in a C3 Probablistic Information Integration Task

Abstract: Eight subjects performed a probablistic information integration task in which multiple cues, in favor of either of two competing hypotheses were presented. The cues varied in their reliability and their diagnostic value in choosing between the hypotheses. Primary interest focussed on the comparison of digital and analog-graphical displays, and upon sources of non-optimality in the information integration process. Generally the analog displays proved superior to the digital, and performance was better when information was presented at a more rapid rate. Subjects appeared to be non-optimal in their treatment of reliability vs. diagnosticity. However, departures from optimality related to serial position effects and to the use of the appropriate model of information integration were not observed.
