TL;DR: Two soft computing techniques were used: an adaptive neurofuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and an artificial neural network (ANN) model for one-month water table forecasts at several wells located at different distances from the river suggest that both these techniques represent useful tools for modeling hydrological processes in agriculture.
Abstract: Water table forecasting plays an important role in the management of groundwater resources in agricultural regions where there are drainage systems in river valleys. The results presented in this paper pertain to an area along the left bank of the Danube River, in the Province of Vojvodina, which is the northern part of Serbia. Two soft computing techniques were used in this research: an adaptive neurofuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and an artificial neural network (ANN) model for one-month water table forecasts at several wells located at different distances from the river. The results suggest that both these techniques represent useful tools for modeling hydrological processes in agriculture, with similar computing and memory capabilities, such that they constitute an exceptionally good numerical framework for generating high-quality models.

15 Oct 2018TL;DR: This paper describes an approach in the selection and evaluation of the criteria and attributes of criteria for selecting the air traffic protection aircraft and the model for the selection of the aircraft was proposed.
Abstract: This paper describes an approach in the selection and evaluation of the criteria and attributes of criteria for selecting the air traffic protection aircraft. After collected initial criteria and attributes, the interaction between criteria and attributes of criteria for the selection of the aircraft especially for the protection of air traffic was evaluated by 45 respondents. Data processing and criteria and attributes selection were carried out by the DEMATEL method (by eliminating less significant criteria and attributes). Furthermore, the weight values of each criterion and attribute were determined by the AHP method. Prioritization was carried out using an eigenvector method. For determination reliability the consistency ratio was checked for each result. As a result the model for the selection of the aircraft was proposed.

TL;DR: In this article, a relation describing the temperature dependence of fatigue strength is proposed, based on the Basquin equation, and an approximate inverse law between fatigue strength and the square root of absolute temperature is demonstrated.
Abstract: By analysing several finite-life fatigue curves obtained at various temperatures, a relation describing the temperature dependence of fatigue strength is proposed, based on the Basquin equation. Accordingly, an approximate inverse law between fatigue strength and the square root of absolute temperature is demonstrated. Moreover, a boundary temperature above which creep begins to play a significant role is estimated. A simple extension of the relationship to the low-cycle fatigue region, allows one to determine predictive curves describing fatigue behaviour at various temperatures, even in cases where only a single fatigue curve at a given temperature plus the temperature dependence of tensile strength are known.

TL;DR: The analysis presented in the paper will take into consideration three different case scenarios of cyber-attacks to Critical Energy Infrastructures, and will evaluate the outcomes and the tactics used by the organizations’ response and recovery.
Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to analyze the vulnerabilities of Critical Energy Infrastructures' systems in the event of cyber-attack. The global tendency of cyber-attacks puts Critical Energy Infrastructures on one of the first places for targets. Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) has become an increasingly relevant topic in the global industrial environment, as the consequences of cyber-attacks toward ICS can result in physical disruption and loss of human lives. The analysis presented in the paper will take into consideration three different case scenarios of cyber-attacks to Critical Energy Infrastructures, and will evaluate the outcomes and the tactics used by the organizations' response and recovery.

15 Mar 2018TL;DR: This study provides a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model so that the confidence interval of fuzzy numbers describes the comparison in pairs whose degree is not determined before the comparison.
Abstract: The military decision-making process is a proven analytical process for designing operations, troops’ movements, logistics or air defense planning. The hybrid FAHP-MABAC model is tested for obtaining/selecting the results for an optimal firing position of the guided anti-tank missile battery (GAMB).This study provides a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model so that the confidence interval of fuzzy numbers describes the comparison in pairs whose degree is not determined before the comparison. By using mathematical expressions the confidence interval is brought into direct connection with the degree of certainty of decision-makers/expert of the comparison performed. In the group decision-making, the confidence intervals differ depending on the decision-maker/expert’s opinion. Finally the sensitivity analysis is used to determine how sensitive a decision model is. The suggested model is expected to contribute to the development of the science of military-operations as well as to prove itself useful to the actors related to defense.
