TL;DR: The design and test is described of a small size dual band implantable antenna operating in Medical Implant Communications Service (MICS) and Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) bands to be used in animal studies for medical research.
Abstract: The design and test is described of a small size dual band implantable antenna operating in Medical Implant Communications Service (MICS) (402 MHz-405 MHz) and Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) (2.4 GHz-2.48 GHz) bands to be used in animal studies for medical research. The antenna is intended for wireless medical monitoring of the physiological parameters such as glucose, pressure, temperature, etc. First, the electrical properties (epsivr and sigma) of skin samples from donor rats are measured at Mississippi State University's (MSU) College of Veterinary Medicine. A dual band antenna is then designed using an in-house finite element boundary integral solver in conjunction with particle swarm optimization algorithm. Finally, the antenna is tested using both skin-mimicking materials and real skin samples. The development details of the skin-mimicking materials are also given. Results regarding the S11 and gain of the designed antenna are given and discussed in detail.

TL;DR: An integrated model based upon the fuzzy approach and evidential reasoning decision-making approach to condition assessment of power transformers is presented and shows that the assessing model is capable of offering an overall evaluation of the observed transformer condition.
Abstract: This paper presents an integrated model based upon the fuzzy approach and evidential reasoning decision-making approach to condition assessment of power transformers. An assessing index system, including the DGA data, electrical testing, and oil testing, is established to facilitate the assessing model. The model is composed of two levels, that is, the fuzzy model and evidential reasoning model. The fuzzy model is proposed for generating the original basic probability assignments for the second-level model. Afterwards, an evidential reasoning decision-making model is utilized to combine all of the evidence and give an overall evaluation conclusion. Based upon this integrated model, a decision-making procedure is put forward to serve as an effective tool for transformer condition assessments. The results show that the assessing model is capable of offering an overall evaluation of the observed transformer condition.

TL;DR: This paper used a holistic wellness paradigm to explore the adjustment of student-athletes and nonathletes at a Division I institution and found that nonathlete reported higher levels of wellness than did student athletes.
Abstract: This study used a holistic wellness paradigm to explore the adjustment of student-athletes and nonathletes at a Division I institution. Results were that nonathletes reported higher levels of wellness than did student-athletes. The authors discuss the ways in which wellness may affect student-athletes' physical and mental health at different points in time during their collegiate experience. Implications for college counselors and other student affairs professionals who support student-athletes are presented.
