12 Jan 2005TL;DR: In this article, a surface light source device attaining a homogenous luminance distribution on a light emitting surface of a light guiding plate in which a dot light source having a high directivity of emitted light is employed is presented.
Abstract: A primary object of the present invention is to provide a surface light source device attaining a homogenous luminance distribution on a light emitting surface of a light guiding plate in which a dot light source having a high directivity of emitted light is employed The device includes: a light guiding plate 5 including a plurality of primary holes in such a manner as to locate each dot light source 3 inside; and dot printing 7 a being employed as an auxiliary light source means which diffuses light from the dot light source 3 to the position between dot light sources 3 being adjacent to each other, wherein the dot printing 7 is provided at a base of the light guiding plate 5 and a middle point of the connected dot light sources 3 being adjacent to each other

13 Mar 2012TL;DR: In this paper, a laser machining device with a laser oscillator for generating a laser beam, a main deflecting galvannometer mirror, an Fθ lens, and a sub-deflecting means arranged in an optical path between the laser oscillators and the main galvanometer mirror is described.
Abstract: A laser machining device according to the invention is provided with a laser oscillator for generating a laser beam, a main deflecting galvannometer mirror, an Fθ lens, and a sub-deflecting means arranged in an optical path between the laser oscillator and the main deflecting galvanometer mirror. A means for splitting a laser beam is provided, and the sub-deflecting means is inserted into the optical path of one of the split laser beams. At the same time, both the split laser beams are incident from the same main deflecting galvannometer mirror to the Fθ lens, and a numerical aperture in the optical system constituted by the main deflecting galvannometer mirror, the Fθ lens, and an object is set to be not more than 0.08.

11 Mar 1988TL;DR: In this article, an IC card has an onboard memory and an onboard microprocessor and the onboard memory contains a plurality of application blocks and a protected block which is accessible by the microprocessor but inaccessible by the terminal.
Abstract: An IC card particularly adapted for multiple functions and having an error checking capability which operates within the card and without the need for the processing power of the terminal. The IC card has an onboard memory and an onboard microprocessor. The onboard memory contains a plurality of application blocks to which access is selectively allowed by the microprocessor and a protected block which is accessible by the microprocessor but inaccessible by the terminal. Stored within the protected block are data specifying the location, size and application associated with each of the application blocks, as well as an error check code relating to the data then stored within the application block.

TL;DR: It is believed that this virus is a novel serotype of HAdV that causes EKC, which is found in eye clinics in different parts of Japan.
Abstract: In 2000, we encountered cases of nosocomial infections with epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (EKC) at a university hospital in Kobe, in the western part of Japan. Two human adenovirus (HAdV) strains, Kobe-H and Kobe-S, were isolated from patients with nosocomial EKC infection. They were untypeable by existing neutralizing antisera; however, the isolate was neutralized with homologous antisera. We then encountered several cases of EKC due to nosocomial infections in eye clinics in different parts of Japan. A total of 80 HAdVs were isolated from patients with EKC at eight different hospitals. The partial hexon gene sequences of the isolates were determined and compared to those of the prototype strains of 51 serotypes. All isolates had identical partial hexon nucleotide sequences. Phylogenetic analysis classified these isolates into species of HAdV-D. The isolates showed 93.9 to 96.7% nucleotide identity with HAdV-D prototype strains, while all 32 HAdV-D prototype strains ranged from 93.2 to 99.2% identity. The sequences of the loop 2 and fiber knob regions from the representative strain, Kobe-H, were dissimilar in all prototype strains of 51 serotypes. We believe that this virus is a novel serotype of HAdV that causes EKC.
