Abstract: This paper presents a hierarchical predicate encryption (HPE) scheme for inner-product predicates that is secure (selectively attribute-hiding) in the standard model under new assumptions These assumptions are non-interactive and of fixed size in the number of adversary's queries (ie, not "q -type"), and are proven to hold in the generic model To the best of our knowledge, this is the first HPE (or delegatable PE) scheme for inner-product predicates that is secure in the standard model The underlying techniques of our result are based on a new approach on bilinear pairings, which is extended from bilinear pairing groups over linear spaces They are quite different from the existing techniques and may be of independent interest

Abstract: A wireless power transfer system includes: a plurality of power transmitters, each of which transmits a microwave; and a rectenna base station which receives the microwave to generate power. The rectenna base station includes: a rectenna; and control section which specifies an identification code for identifying each power transmitter and generates a command signal to change a phase of the power transmitter specified by identification code so as to increase a power value received at the rectenna. Each of the power transmitters comprises: a plurality of transmission antenna elements, each of which transmits the microwave to the rectenna base station; and a phase controller which makes phase change of the microwave based on the command signal from the phase monitor and control section of the rectenna base station if the identification code matches a stored identification code.

Abstract: In a power converting apparatus which converts AC power into DC power, an inverter circuit including at least one series-connected single-phase inverter is connected in a downstream of a stage in which an AC input is rectified in series therewith. In the downstream stage of the inverter circuit, there are provided a smoothing capacitor connected via a rectifier diode and a short-circuiting switch for bypassing the smoothing capacitor. The short-circuiting switch is set to an ON state only in each of short-circuiting phase ranges of which midpoint matches each of zero-crossing phases and an output of the inverter circuit is controlled by using a current command so that a DC voltage of the smoothing capacitor follows a target voltage and an input power factor is improved.

Abstract: Each detection column wiring is constituted by a set of a first metal wiring having a zigzag pattern and a second metal wiring having a structure axisymmetric with the first metal wiring about a column direction as an axis, wherein the first metal wiring is constituted by first sloped portions which are obliquely sloped by an inclination angle of 45 degrees with respect to the column direction, and first parallel portions which are parallel with the column direction and are continuous with the first sloped portions, such that the first sloped portions and the first parallel portions are repeatedly placed in a zigzag shape along the column direction. Each detection row wiring also has the same structure. A sloped portion out of the first sloped portions of the first metal wiring is always orthogonally and spatially intersected, at its middle point, with a sloped portion out of the second sloped portions of the third metal wiring at its middle point. There is also the same orthogonal relationship among the other portions.

Abstract: A wiring process between the provided power semiconductor module and the external circuit is simple. In the power semiconductor module, a power semiconductor element and a cylindrical conductor are joined to one surface of a lead frame. An opening of the cylindrical conductor is exposed at a surface of transfer molding resin. Sealing with the transfer molding resin is performed such that terminal portions of the lead frame protrude from peripheral side portions of the transfer molding resin. The cylindrical conductor is conductive with a control circuit. The terminal portions of the lead frame are each conductive with a main circuit.

Abstract: An analog touch panel device capable of utilizing a two-point touch on a touch panel as meaningful information input and a user interface device employing the analog touch panel device are provided. A decision is made as to whether two points are touched or not on a touch panel TP having resistive films which have electrode terminals at opposite end portions each and are superimposed top and bottom in such a manner that the electrode terminals become orthogonal, in which the top and bottom resistive films are brought into contact with each other by a push of a resistive film surface by touch input. The decision is made according to resistance values between the opposite terminals, and when a decision is made that the two points are touched, the distance between the two points touched is detected according to the resistance values between the opposite terminals.

Abstract: The thermal fatigue reliability of Si die-attached joints with Zn-30wt.%Sn, high-temperature, Pb-free solder was investigated, focusing on the interfacial microstructure and joining strength of a Cu/solder/Cu joint during thermal cycling. A sound die attachment on an aluminum nitride (AlN) direct-bonded copper (DBC) substrate was achieved by forming Cu-Zn intermetallic compound (IMC) layers at the interface with the Cu of the substrate. During the thermal cycling test performed between −40°C and 125°C, thermal fatigue cracks were induced by the growth of Cu-Zn IMCs at the interface with the Cu. A␣thin titanium nitride (TiN) film was applied to suppress the formation of Cu-Zn IMCs. Adequate joint formation was accomplished by using an Au/TiN-coated DBC substrate, and only the TiN layer was observed at both interfaces. In conjunction with the TiN diffusion barrier, the Si die-attached joint created with Zn-30wt.%Sn solder exhibited a stable interfacial microstructure during thermal cycling. No microstructural changes, such as IMC formation, grain growth or formation of fatigue cracks, were observed, and the joining strength was maintained even after 2000 cycles.

Abstract: We have demonstrated the 1.6 μm cw modulation hard-target differential absorption lidar system for CO2 sensing. In this system, ON and OFF wavelength laser lights are intensity modulated with cw signals. Received lights of the two wavelengths from the hard target are discriminated by modulation frequencies in the electrical signal domain. The optical circuit is fiber based, and this makes the system compact and reliable. It is shown that a stable CO2 concentration measurement corresponding to a fluctuation of 4 ppm (rms) (ppm is parts per million) has been achieved in 32 s measurement intervals and the 1 km path.

There are provided a first electronic circuit substrate, a second electronic circuit substrate, a first coil connected to the first electronic circuit substrate, and a second coil connected to the second electronic circuit substrate. Power is transmitted from the first coil to the second coil by electromagnetic induction so that the first electronic circuit substrate and the second electronic circuit substrate are electrically connected.

Abstract: Air turbulence has become a major cause of significant injuries and aircraft damages. Timely advanced warning of turbulence ahead of an aircraft may allow pilots to take appropriate action to minimize potential damage, such as reducing speed and securing passengers and unsecured objects, or to avoid the turbulence altogether. The aim of our research is to develop a practical, onboard, Lidar-based proactive sensor that will detect air turbulence in clear air at a range of 5 n miles (9.3 km) at cruising altitudes. In February 2007 we successfully measured wind speeds approximately 3 n miles (5.6 km) ahead of an aircraft in low-altitude flight experiments, and in a subsequent experiment in July of the same year, we succeeded in detecting air turbulence before encountering it. An upgraded 5-n-mile Lidar for low altitudes was developed in fiscal year 2007, and has successfully measured wind speeds at ranges up to 5 n miles in ground tests. This paper describes the master development plan of our Lidar turbulence sensor and the results of basic flight and ground experiments.

A voltage sensor detects a voltage waveform, and a current sensor acquires a current waveform, of a power line in a noncontact manner. A load terminal operates to connect the power line and a voltage measuring terminal to measure a current flowing from the power line to a load and to calculate a voltage value from the measured current value and the load. The load terminal transmits, in response to a request from a measuring apparatus, the measured current value and the calculated voltage value to the measuring apparatus via a communication means. A control portion of the measuring apparatus receives the current value and the voltage value from the load terminal. The control portion calculates a power value based on the received current value, voltage value voltage waveform and current waveform.

Abstract: A communication apparatus that can suppress an increase in circuit size and reduce influence of interference, includes reception array antenna elements, a reception digital beam forming (DBF) network that generates a reception beam signal for forming M reception beams using a reception signal, and reception filter banks (FBs) that generate frequency split reception beam signals obtained by frequency-splitting the reception beam signal. The communication apparatus includes an interference-source detecting unit that stores, for each reception beam, an interference candidate beam area estimated based on an initial reception beam characteristic, calculates, based on the frequency split reception beam signals, a reception spectrum, and calculates, based on the reception spectrum and a reception spectrum of a reception beam to the interference candidate beam area, an interference source area. The reception DFB network generates a reception beam signal to perform null formation in the direction of the interference source area.
