Abstract: One ozone concentrating chamber is provided therein with a part of a cooling temperature range where ozone can be selectively condensed or an oxygen gas can be selectively removed by transmission from an ozonized oxygen gas, and a part of a temperature range where condensed ozone can be vaporized, and condensed ozone is vaporized by moving condensed ozone with flow of a fluid or by gravitation to the part where condensed ozone can be vaporized, whereby the ozonized oxygen gas can be increased in concentration. Such a constitution is provided that a particle material 13 for condensation and vaporization filled in the ozone concentrating chambers 11 and 12 has a spherical shape of a special shape with multifaceted planes on side surfaces, or an oxygen transmission membrane 130 capable of selectively transmitting an oxygen gas in an ozone gas is provided.

Abstract: We present the first decentralized multi-authority attribute-based signature (DMA-ABS) scheme, in which no central authority and no trusted setup are required. The proposed DMA-ABS scheme for a large class of (non-monotone) predicates is fully secure (adaptive-predicate unforgeable and perfectly private) under a standard assumption, the decisional linear (DLIN) assumption, in the random oracle model. Our DMA-ABS scheme is comparably as efficient as the most efficient ABS scheme. As a by-product, this paper also presents an adaptively secure DMA functional encryption (DMA-FE) scheme under the DLIN assumption.

Abstract: There is a problem that when performing field encoding on an interlaced signal, the space resolution in a vertical direction is reduced to one half and the correlation between pixels degrades, and, as a result, the prediction efficiency of intra prediction and the coding efficiency of orthogonal transformation coefficients degrade. In accordance with the present invention, there is provided an intra predictor that when a flag based on information showing whether or not field encoding is performed is valid, in case of a horizontal prediction, does not perform a filtering process on a prediction block at a time of performing an intra prediction process according to the horizontal prediction, but in case of a mean value prediction, performs a filtering process only on the left edge of the prediction block at a time of performing an intra prediction process according to the mean value prediction.

Abstract: A wavelength selective wideband uncooled infrared (IR) sensor that detects middle-wavelength and long-wavelength IR (MWIR and LWIR) regions has been developed using a two-dimensional plasmonic absorber (2-D PLA). The 2-D PLA has a Au-based 2-D periodic dimple-array structure, where photons can be manipulated using a spoof surface plasmon. Numerical investigations demonstrate that the absorption wavelength can be designed according to the surface period of dimples over a wide wavelength range (MWIR and LWIR regions). A microelectromechanical system-based uncooled IR sensor with a 2-D PLA was fabricated using complementary metal oxide semiconductor and micromachining techniques. Measurement of the spectral responsivity shows that the selective enhancement of responsivity is achieved over both MWIR and LWIR regions, where the wavelength of the responsivity peak coincides with the dimple period of the 2-D PLA. The results provide direct evidence that a wideband wavelength selective IR sensor can be realized simply by design of the 2-D PLA surface structure without the need for vertical control in terms of gap or thickness. A pixel array where each pixel has a different detection wavelength could be developed for multicolor IR imaging.

Abstract: We propose a method for power theft detection based on predictive models for technical losses in electrical distribution networks estimated entirely from data collected by smart meters in smart grids. Although the data sampling rate of smart meters is not sufficiently high to detect power theft with complete certainty, detection is still possible in a statistical decision theory sense, based on statistical models estimated from collected data sets. Even without detailed knowledge of the exact topology of the distribution network, it is possible to estimate a statistical model of the technical losses that allows indirect estimation of the non-technical losses (power theft) with high accuracy.

Abstract: Leaks inside semi-custom ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) design primitives are rigorously investigated. The study is conducted by measuring a dedicated TEG (Test Element Group) chip with a small magnetic-field probe on the chip surface. Measurement targets are standard cells and a memory macro cell. Leaks inside the primitives are focused as many of conventional countermeasures place measurability boundaries on these primitives. Firstly, it is shown that current-path leak: a leak based on input-dependent active current path within a standard cell [1] is measurable. Major gate-level countermeasures (RSL, MDPL, and WDDL) become vulnerable if the current-path leak is considered. Secondly, it is shown that internal-gate leak: a leak based on non-linear sub-circuit within a XOR cell is measurable. It can be exploited to bias the distribution of the random mask. Thirdly, it is shown that geometric leak: a leak based on geometric layout of the memory matrix structure is measurable. It is a leak correlated to integer representation of the memory address. We also show that a ROM-based countermeasure (Dual-rail RSL memory [10]) becomes vulnerable with the geometric leak. A general transistor-level design method to counteract the current-path and internal-gate leaks is also shown.

Abstract: In an alternator for a vehicle according to the present invention, each of rear-side ribs defining each of rear-side exhaust holes includes a projecting portion that has a three-sided sectional shape obtained by cutting along a vertical direction relative to a center axis line of a shaft at least in a portion away from respective end portions of stator coils, and has an apex oriented toward a cooling fan. The apex is oriented in a direction opposite to a rotating direction of the cooling fan. Therefore, the amount of air generated by the cooling fan is increased to improve cooling performance for a stator.

Abstract: BL-6A at the Photon Factory is new small-angle X-ray scattering beamline. The light source makes use of a bending magnet, and the available wavelength, monochromatized by a Johann type crystal monochromator, is fixed to 1.5 A. Various kinds of detectors for SAXS and WAXS experiments are installed in BL-6A, and a SAXS/WAXS simultaneous measurement system was also constructed. This beamline is maintained to measure various samples, such as protein solutions, fibers, liquid crystals as well as solid state materials.

Abstract: An air conditioning system that includes desiccant compartments for holding a desiccant; a heat exchanger, a blower and a vessel. The heat exchanger can be filled with a heat transfer medium, while the blower blows ambient air by the heat exchanger such that the blown air is cooled and the heat exchanger is warmed such that thermal energy increases and is transferred from the air to the heat transfer medium causing the heat transfer medium to turn into vapor. The vapor is then diffused to one of the desiccant compartments such that the vapor is adsorbed onto the desiccant creating a mixture. Then an energy source is applied to the mixture such that the vapor and desiccant are separated. The separated vapor is transported to the vessel where it is condensed and then sent back to the heat exchanger, such that the system is able to be continuously operating.

An intake-opening is formed in a surface of the outer casing, and cooling wind is taken into the outer casing from outside thereof through the intake-opening. Abstract: When a power supply switch is fed with power from a DC power supply and closed, a power supply unit starts power feeding to an opening and closing command generation unit and continues the power feeding by a self-hold command signal from the opening and closing command generation unit. A reverse connection protective element is a field-effect transistor connected in series to the power supply switch and driven to conduct current in an energization direction of an internal parasitic diode when the power supply is connected in proper polarity. Even when a supply fault abnormality is occurring due to fault contact between a positive-side wire of an in-vehicle electrical load connected to the reverse connection protective element and a positive-electrode wire of the DC power supply, the self-hold command signal is cancelled by determining that the power supply switch is opened while the reverse connection protective element is opened.

The rotary electric machine according to the present invention has, on at least one of the inner and outer circumferences of a hole portion 22 of a connection terminal 20 , a groove portion 22 a, 22 b, 22 c, 22 d , or 22 e that can prevent brazing material 24 from flowing out from between butting portions 23 , thereby solving a problem that a crack occurs on the connection terminal upon fusing of the connection terminal and a lead conductive wire.

Abstract: We demonstrated phase-locking in a laser-diode-array-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser array (15 emitters) using a Talbot cavity. The Nd:YVO4 slab crystal was coated by dielectric material for claddings and formed a planar waveguide for the vertical mode. To stabilize the horizontal array mode, periodical thermal lenses were generated by controlling the heat flow. The phase-locked waveguide array generated 1.65-W output power, while 2.02 W was available in a standard cavity. Two-peak supermode was demonstrated with the Talbot cavity and was converted to a single peak with a spatial light modulator. We also experimentally and numerically analyzed the characteristics of Talbot phase-locking.

A power system stabilizer issues a control command to a first storage battery among a plurality of first power generators and the first storage battery that are connected to an isolated island system via a first tie-line. The power system stabilizer includes a parameter determination unit and a control block unit. The parameter determination unit obtains, on the basis of operation information, a rate-of-change limit value that indicates a limit to be imposed on a total value of changes in the overall output of first power generators in operation. The control block unit generates a command value to be given to the first storage battery on the basis of an interconnection point power flow value measured on the first tie-line and the rate-of-change limit value obtained by the parameter determination unit.
