TL;DR: In this article, a simple synthesis method of a power system stabilizer (PSS) was developed by combining the frequency response method and the pole assignment method, which enables synthesis in a multimachine system and is easily incorporated into an eigenvalue program for the power system.
Abstract: A simple synthesis method of a power system stabilizer (PSS) was developed by combining the frequency response method and the pole assignment method. This method enables synthesis in a multimachine system and is easily incorporated into an eigenvalue program for the power system. Although there are limitations of the model accuracy, the damper winding, the governor system and the load characteristics can be considered in the synthesis.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a sequence-to-sequence framework to directly decode multiple label sequences from a single speech sequence by unifying source separation and speech recognition functions in an endto-end manner.
Abstract: Recently, there has been growing interest in multi-speaker speech recognition, where the utterances of multiple speakers are recognized from their mixture. Promising techniques have been proposed for this task, but earlier works have required additional training data such as isolated source signals or senone alignments for effective learning. In this paper, we propose a new sequence-to-sequence framework to directly decode multiple label sequences from a single speech sequence by unifying source separation and speech recognition functions in an end-to-end manner. We further propose a new objective function to improve the contrast between the hidden vectors to avoid generating similar hypotheses. Experimental results show that the model is directly able to learn a mapping from a speech mixture to multiple label sequences, achieving 83.1% relative improvement compared to a model trained without the proposed objective. Interestingly, the results are comparable to those produced by previous end-to-end works featuring explicit separation and recognition modules.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system enables multiple users to interact with a picture presentation, where a processor is configured to composite an image and a display device, coupled with a processor, displays the composite image on the display surface, and an input device is used to concurrently control the compositing of the sequence of images.
Abstract: A system enables multiple users to interact with a picture presentation. The system includes a display surface having a horizontal orientation, preferably circular. A processor is configured to composite an image. The composite image includes a picture display area, an orientation area, and a plurality of control panels. There is one control panel for each of the users. A database, coupled to the processor, stores annotated pictures. Selected annotated pictures are to be composited into the picture display area of the displayed image. The pictures are selected using the control panel. A display device, coupled to the processor, displays the composite image on the display surface, and an input device is used to interact with the control panels, the orientation area, and the annotated pictures to enable the users to concurrently control the compositing of the sequence of images.
