TL;DR: It is proven that a large phase shift (but less than ir/2) results in a smaller miss distance and that the combination of the phase lead and the augmented proportional navigation produces better results.
Abstract: The features of high-# barrel rolls for an aircraft and the countermeasures for a proportional navigation guidance missile against this maneuver are studied First, the features of the barrell roll maneuver, and the effects of the parameters on the miss distance are discussed The simulation results show that a high-£ barrel roll maneuver generally produces a larger miss distance than a split-S (a sustained maximum g turn) and the miss distance does not critically depend on the maneuver initiation time, if the aircraft has a certain length of "time-to-go" and maneuvers with an appropriate roll rate Second, the inference is made that the provision of a phase lead in the pitch-yaw plane in the missile guidance loop and adoption of the augmented proportional navigation guidance may be effective It is also proven that a large phase shift (but less than ir/2) results in a smaller miss distance and that the combination of the phase lead and the augmented proportional navigation produces better results

TL;DR: In this article, a three-axis LTS SQUID magnetometer was fabricated as a Magnetic Anomaly Detector (MAD) onboard an aircraft, which is suitable for performing distant target detection in unshielded mobile operation.
Abstract: A three-axis LTS SQUID magnetometer was fabricated as a Magnetic Anomaly Detector (MAD) onboard an aircraft. A magnetometer measuring magnetic total field, which is rotational invariant, is suitable for performing distant target detection in unshielded mobile operation. To configure the magnetometer, several requirements for the SQUID magnetometer had to be considered such as ultra wide dynamic range above 150 dB, extremely accurate linearity and orthogonality of the three-axis. The magnetic vector component with the sufficient dynamic range was obtained by synthesizing the SQUID output voltage and the counts of SQUID's flux-voltage (/spl Phi/-v) periodicity. The magnetic total field was obtained from the three magnetic vector components using our scalar composition algorithm that corrects the non-orthogonality and so on. The compensation algorithm with quadratic form of permanent, inductive and eddy-current magnetism was used to suppress the magnetic noise caused by the platform manoeuver. Our SQUID MAD was designed to implement the procedures mentioned above in real-time. The SQUID MAD was equipped in the tail boom of the aircraft and its performance was evaluated in the flight tests. We confirmed that our SQUID MAD provided extremely high sensitivity in flight by suppressing the magnetic noise, and successfully detected a distant surface ship.

01 Apr 1990TL;DR: A range sensing method by projecting a single pattern of multiple slits of randomly distributed dots to obtain 3D data by utilizing the adjacency relationships to get an entire range image.
Abstract: In this paper, we describe a range sensing method by projecting a single pattern of multiple slits. To obtain 3D data by projecting a single pattern, certain codes for identifying each slit must be contained in the patten. In our method, random dots are used to identify each slit. The random dots are given as randomly distributed cuts on each slit. Thus, each slit is divided into many small line segments and using these segments as features, stereo matching is carried out to obtain 3D data. Using adjacent relations among slit-segments, the false matches are reduced and segment pairs, whose adjacent segments also correspond with each other, are extracted and considered to be correct matches. Then, from the resultant matches, the correspondence is propagated by utilizing the adjacency relationships to get an entire range image.

02 Jun 2005TL;DR: In this article, an image display apparatus is provided that enables the chromaticity of a display screen of a device to be adjusted according to the desired chromaticities desired by the user.
Abstract: An image display apparatus is provided that enables the chromaticity of a display screen of a display apparatus to be adjusted to the chromaticity desired by a user. The image display apparatus is formed by a backlight unit that is provided with a plurality of light sources and by an image display panel that is placed at a front surface of the backlight unit. The image display apparatus performs a monochrome display. In the image display apparatus, the light sources have at least three different types of luminescent colors that surround a target color on a chromaticity diagram.

27 Mar 2006TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a system interconnection inverter that includes a step-up converter and an inverter, and a short-circuit current-interrupting diode with a cathode connected to an input terminal of a negative bus.
Abstract: A system interconnection inverter includes a step-up converter and an inverter. Moreover, the system interconnection inverter includes a short-circuit current-interrupting diode with a cathode connected to an input terminal of a negative bus, a semiconductor switch connected to an anode of the short-circuit current-interrupting diode, a semiconductor switch drive circuit that drives the semiconductor switch, a semiconductor switch-off circuit that turns off the semiconductor switch drive circuit when negative power is applied such that electric current flows from a cathode toward an anode of the input terminal, and a control circuit that controls the semiconductor switch drive circuit.
