TL;DR: In this paper, a three-dimensional television system consisting of an acquisition stage, a display stage and a transmission network is described. And the acquisition stage includes multiple video cameras configured to acquire input videos of a dynamically changing scene in real-time.
Abstract: A three-dimensional television system includes an acquisition stage, a display stage and a transmission network. The acquisition stage includes multiple video cameras configured to acquire input videos of a dynamically changing scene in real-time. The display stage includes a three-dimensional display unit configured to concurrently display output videos generated from the input videos. The transmission network connects the acquisition stage to the display stage.

TL;DR: In this article, a series of lithium-containing oxides that immediately react with ambient CO2 up to 700°C was discovered, and the possibility of a CO2 separation system that operates at around 500°C is proposed.
Abstract: We have discovered a series of lithium-containing oxides that immediately react with ambient carbon dioxide (CO2) up to 700°C. The products react and return reversibly to the oxides at a temperatures higher than about 700°C. The absorption capacity surpasses that of other CO2 absorbents by a factor of 10. Utilizing these absorbents, the possibility of a CO2 separation system that operates at around 500°C is proposed. It is generally believed that a CO2 separation process operable at temperatures higher than 500°C has the special benefit of a small energy penalty. Moreover, the absorption also proceeds at ambient temperature in the atmospheric environment. This property offers the possibility of many other applications, such as air cleaners or cartridges. Therefore, we think these materials have the potential to make a valuable contribution to the realization of CO2 emission control.

TL;DR: A field trial of 100-Gbit/s Ethernet over an optical transport network (OTN) is conducted using a real-time digital coherent signal processor and the recovery time of 12 msec is observed in an optical route switching experiment, which is achieved through fast chromatic dispersion estimation functionality.
Abstract: A field trial of 100-Gbit/s Ethernet over an optical transport network (OTN) is conducted using a real-time digital coherent signal processor. Error free operation with the Q-margin of 3.2 dB is confirmed at a 100 Gbit/s Ethernet analyzer by concatenating a low-density parity-check code with a OTN framer forward error correction, after 80-ch WDM transmission through 6 spans x 70 km of dispersion shifted fiber without inline-dispersion compensation. Also, the recovery time of 12 msec is observed in an optical route switching experiment, which is achieved through fast chromatic dispersion estimation functionality.

TL;DR: The proposed input/output architectures for convolutional neural network (CNN)-based cross-view gait recognition are used and it is confirmed that the proposed architectures outperformed the state-of-the-art benchmarks in accordance with their suitable situations of verification/identification tasks and view differences.
Abstract: In this paper, we discuss input/output architectures for convolutional neural network (CNN)-based cross-view gait recognition. For this purpose, we consider two aspects: verification versus identification and the tradeoff between spatial displacements caused by subject difference and view difference. More specifically, we use the Siamese network with a pair of inputs and contrastive loss for verification and a triplet network with a triplet of inputs and triplet ranking loss for identification. The aforementioned CNN architectures are insensitive to spatial displacement, because the difference between a matching pair is calculated at the last layer after passing through the convolution and max pooling layers; hence, they are expected to work relatively well under large view differences. By contrast, because it is better to use the spatial displacement to its best advantage because of the subject difference under small view differences, we also use CNN architectures where the difference between a matching pair is calculated at the input level to make them more sensitive to spatial displacement. We conducted experiments for cross-view gait recognition and confirmed that the proposed architectures outperformed the state-of-the-art benchmarks in accordance with their suitable situations of verification/identification tasks and view differences.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the charge accumulation and its mechanisms based on the experiments of post and conical epoxy spacers subjected to high dc voltages in compressed SF 6 gas.
Abstract: The charge accumulation and its mechanisms are studied based on the experiments of post and conical epoxy spacers subjected to high dc voltages in compressed SF 6 gas. The charge measurement is performed using electrostatic probe and dust figure techniques. The charge accumulation is strongly influenced by the surface condition of epoxy spacer. Heterocharge deposits locally on the surface of untreated spacer. The flashover voltage of highly charged spacer decreases considerably at the time of polarity reversal. In the case of epoxy surface treated with horning, only a small quantity of charge is deposited uniformly on the surface of spacer. The mechanism of inhomogeneous surface conduction is suggested by the local surface charging on the untreated spacer. Field emission is also found as the other charging mechanism on the conical spacer set in rough finish electrode system.
