TL;DR: In this paper, a practical method to analyze voltage oscillations inside power transformers connected to them is developed based on multiconductor transmission-line theory. But the analysis is conducted in two steps in the frequency domain: first, the whole transformer winding is simulated using a single transmission line model; and secondly, the phenomena in the first coil are analyzed using a multiconductor transceivers.
Abstract: Owing to the operation of disconnector switches, very fast transient overvoltages can generate a voltage oscillation inside power transformers connected to them. A practical method to analyse such oscillations is developed based on multiconductor transmission-line theory. The analysis is conducted in two steps in the frequency domain: first the whole transformer winding is simulated using a single transmission-line model; and secondly, the phenomena in the first coil are analysed using a multiconductor transmission-line model. The numerical results for an actual 525 kV power transformer conform with experiments. The interturn voltage shows a resonance determined by the travelling waves in the coil. The propagation of travelling waves is visualised using time domain analysis.

TL;DR: In this article, a discriminative training of the non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) basis functions is proposed to improve the SNR performance of single-channel source separation.
Abstract: The objective of single-channel source separation is to accurately recover source signals from mixtures. Non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) is a popular approach for this task, yet previous NMF approaches have not optimized directly this objective, despite some efforts in this direction. Our paper introduces discriminative training of the NMF basis functions such that, given the coefficients obtained on a mixture, a desired source is optimally recovered. We approach this optimization by generalizing the model to have separate analysis and reconstruction basis functions. This generalization frees us to optimize reconstruction objectives that incorporate the filtering step and SNR performance criteria. A novel multiplicative update algorithm is presented for the optimization of the reconstruction basis functions according to the proposed discriminative objective functions. Results on the 2nd CHiME Speech Separation and Recognition Challenge task indicate significant gains in source-to-distortion ratio with respect to sparse NMF, exemplar-based NMF, as well as a previously proposed discriminative NMF criterion.

TL;DR: In this paper, each detection column wiring is constituted by a set of a first metal wiring with a zigzag pattern and a second metal wiring having a structure axisymmetric with the first metal wires about a column direction as an axis.
Abstract: Each detection column wiring is constituted by a set of a first metal wiring having a zigzag pattern and a second metal wiring having a structure axisymmetric with the first metal wiring about a column direction as an axis, wherein the first metal wiring is constituted by first sloped portions which are obliquely sloped by an inclination angle of 45 degrees with respect to the column direction, and first parallel portions which are parallel with the column direction and are continuous with the first sloped portions, such that the first sloped portions and the first parallel portions are repeatedly placed in a zigzag shape along the column direction. Each detection row wiring also has the same structure. A sloped portion out of the first sloped portions of the first metal wiring is always orthogonally and spatially intersected, at its middle point, with a sloped portion out of the second sloped portions of the third metal wiring at its middle point. There is also the same orthogonal relationship among the other portions.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for storing a plurality of sequentially ordered data samples in a plurality-of-sequential storage segments such that one of the sampled data samples is stored at a segment of the plurality of sequential storage segments which is not sequentially related to another segment in which an immediately preceding data sample is stored is presented.
Abstract: A method stores a plurality of sequentially ordered data samples in a plurality of sequential storage segments such that one of the plurality of sequentially ordered data samples is stored at one of the plurality of sequential storage segments which is non-sequential to another of the plurality of sequential storage segments in which an immediately preceding one of the plurality of sequentially ordered data samples is stored. Another one of the stored plurality of sequentially ordered data samples, other than a first ordered one of the plurality of sequentially ordered data samples, is overwritten with a further data sample, the further data sample being immediately sequential to a last ordered one of the plurality of sequentially ordered data samples.
