11 Dec 1992TL;DR: In this paper, a process for converting feedstock hydrocarbon compounds over a catalyst composition which comprises a large-pore molecular sieve material and an additive catalyst composition comprising crystalline material having the structure of ZSM-5 and a silica/alumina mole ratio of less than about 30.
Abstract: A process is provided for converting feedstock hydrocarbon compounds over a catalyst composition which comprises a large-pore molecular sieve material and an additive catalyst composition comprising crystalline material having the structure of ZSM-5 and a silica/alumina mole ratio of less than about 30. An embodiment of the present invention comprises an improved catalytic cracking process to produce high octane gasoline, increased alkylate and potential alkylate, and increased lower olefins, especially propylene.

18 Mar 2008TL;DR: In this paper, the alkylaromatic compositions include an aromatic moiety other than unsubstituted naphthalene; and an alkyl moiety having a carbon atom number in the range between 12 to 40.
Abstract: Provided are alkylaromatic compositions and processes for producing them. The alkylaromatic compositions include an aromatic moiety other than unsubstituted naphthalene; and an alkyl moiety having a carbon atom number in the range between 12 to 40, wherein said alkyl moiety is attached to said aromatic moiety such that at least 25 mol% of the benzylic carbons are quaternary. The process for producing the alkylaromatic compositions include contacting at least one an aromatic compound and a mono-olefin having a carbon atom number in the range between 12 to 40 in the presence of an acidic alkylation catalyst under alkylation conditions, wherein at least 50 mol% of the mono-olefin structure comprises a vinylidenyl structure, and thereby producing said alkylaromatic compound having at least 25 mol% of benzylic carbons that are quaternary. The alkylaromatic compositions disclosed herein are liquids that have improved thermo- and oxidative stability and pour point.

17 Oct 1974TL;DR: In this article, a refinery process for converting desalted full range crude oils and syncrudes derived from coal, shale and tar sands is described, which involves mixing and reacting the full range heavy oil feed with a low molecular weight carbon-hydrogen fragment contributor such as methanol or C2 -C5 olefins in the presence of a fluid zeolite cracking catalyst comprising mordenite.

16 Jan 1991TL;DR: In this paper, a linear block copolymer with at least one triblock I-B-I is presented, where I is a block of a polymerized conjugated diene of at least 5 carbon atoms, such as isoprene, and B is a polymer of a conjugate diene, different from that of formula (1), of at most 4 carbon atoms such as 1,3-butadiene.
Abstract: There is disclosed a linear block copolymer comprising at least one triblock I-B-I, wherein I is a block of a polymerized conjugated diene of at least 5 carbon atoms, such as isoprene, and B is a block of a polymer of a conjugated diene, different from that of formula (1), of at least 4 carbon atoms, such as 1,3-butadiene. The B block is selectively hydrogenated, while each of the I blocks retains a sufficient amount of its original unsaturation to vulcanize the copolymer. There is also disclosed an alternative linear block copolymer containing at least one triblock of the first polymer block made from an aryl-substituted olefin, such as styrene, and the conjugated diene used to polymerize the block I, the second middle polymer block of the diene used to polymerize the block B, and the third polymer block which is the same as the first polymer block. In this alternative copolymer, the middle block is also selectively hydrogenated, thereby leaving the terminal polymer blocks with a sufficient amount of double bonds to vulcanize the copolymer. The polymers can be crosslinked or functionalized through the terminal blocks containing the vinyl unsaturation. There are also disclosed random and star-branched block and random copolymers made from the same monomers as the linear block copolymers. Also disclosed are methods of producing and selectively hydrogenating the polymers.

29 Jan 1978TL;DR: In this paper, a simple model for inlet morphologies for successively greater relative role of tidal currents in the sediment dispersal is proposed, which is based on the geometry of the backbarrier bay.
Abstract: Sediment dispersal patterns in tidal inlets within the German and the Georgia Bights are found to be controlled by three major environmental factors: (1) the tide range, (2) the nearshore wave energy, and (3) the geometry of the backbarrier bay. Both embayments chosen for study are characterized by high wave energies and low tide ranges on their flanks, and low wave energies and high tide ranges in their centers. The spatial variability in inlet morphology, therefore, contains information on the relative role of tides and waves in inlet sediment dispersal. The paper concludes by proposing a simple model for inlet morphologies for successively greater relative role of tidal currents in the sediment dispersal.
