TL;DR: In this paper, a simplified model was employed to develop mathematically-equations that describe the unsteady-state behavior of naturally fractured reservoirs, the analysis resulted in an equation of flow of radial symmetry whose solution, for the infinite case, is identical in form and function to that describing the unstable state behavior of homo- geneous reservoirs.
Abstract: A simplified model was employed to develop mathematicallyequations that describe the unsteady state behavior of naturally fractured reservoirs, The analysis resulted in an equation of flow of radial symmetry whose solution, for the infinite case, is identical in form and function to that describing the unsteady-state behavior of homo geneous reservoirs. Accepting the assumed model, for all practical purposes one cannot distinguish between fractured and homogeneous reservoirs from pressure build-up and/or drawdown plots,

29 Jul 1999TL;DR: A synergistic combination of additives comprising an adduct of a substituted triazole or a substituted benzotriazole, e.g., TZ with an amine phosphate and a trihydrocarbyl phosphate such as cresyl diphenylphosphate (CDP), confers the desired balance of anti-wear and anti-rust properties as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: Lubricating oils useful as gear oils, circulating oils, compressor oils and in other applications characterized by an excellent balance of anti-wear and anti-rust characteristics are based on high quality base stocks including a major portion of a hydrocarbon base fluid such as a PAO with a secondary base stock component which is preferably a long chain alkylated aromatic, such as an alkylnaphthalene. A synergistic combination of additives comprising an adduct of a substituted triazole such as benzotriazole or a substituted benzotriazole, e.g. tolyltriazole (TTZ) with an amine phosphate and a trihydrocarbyl phosphate such as cresyl diphenylphosphate (CDP), confers the desired balance of anti-wear and anti-rust properties. In addition, the present oils typically include an anti-oxidant component and a rust inhibitor together with other optional additive components.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe how different kinds of topological defects that exist in a silicate liquid crystal seed can initiate and direct the growth of particular forms of mesoporous silica.
Abstract: The main goal of this research news article is to describe how different kinds of topological defects that exist in a silicate liquid crystal seed can initiate and direct the growth of particular forms of mesoporous silica. This avenue of investigation emerged from the results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and polarized optical microscopy (POM) studies of hexagonal mesoporous silica fibers, films, and curved shapes, which delineated the essential relations between synthesis conditions, morphology, bulk and surface mesostructure, and optical birefringence textures.[1–3] While SEMs of faceted mesoporous silica first appeared in 1992,[4] the recognition, understanding, and significance of morphogenesis of mesoporous silica with curved shapes emerged in a series of papers from our laboratory.
