10 Jun 1964TL;DR: In this paper, a D.C. signal applied to the base 126 of a transistor 128, Fig. 6, controls the frequency of a unijunction transistor oscillator 147, 153, 149, 143, 146, the pulses from which repetitively switch on a silicon-controlled rectifier 156 to intermittently energize a motor 93, the rectifier being turned off to de-energize the motor at a predetermined time after each pulse by a further ununction transistor circuit 163, &c.
Abstract: 1,097,083. Transistor pulse circuits. MOBIL OIL CORPORATION. June 4, 1965 [June 10, 1964], No. 23947/65. Heading H3T. [Also in Divisions G1, G4 and H2] A D.C. signal applied to the base 126 of a transistor 128, Fig. 6, controls the frequency of a unijunction transistor oscillator 147, 153, 149, 143, 146, the pulses from which repetitively switch on a silicon-controlled rectifier 156 to intermittently energize a motor 93, the rectifier 156 being turned off to de-energize the motor at a predetermined time after each pulse by a further unijunction transistor circuit 163, &c. When the motor 93 is energized, a drop in potential of the common terminal of capacitors 161 and 182 occurs, and after a time which is determined by the time constant of the capacitor 161 with the resistors 162, 172, the said further unijunction transistor 163 conducts and a further silicon-controlled rectifier 177 is switched on, thus forcing the anode potential of the first rectifier 158 to earth and turning it off.

01 Oct 1968TL;DR: In this article, the effects of aqueous sodium aluminosilicate gels to zeolite were studied by means of sorption, and the effect of changing caustic concentration could be interpreted in terms of mass transfer of some dissolved species from the bulk of the gel medium to the surface of the crystal.
Abstract: Conversion of aqueous sodium aluminosilicate gels to zeolite. A was measured by means of sorption. Effects of SiO 2 Al 2 O 2 in the starting gel, caustic concentration, and stirring rate were studied. At excess silica, the gels were found to be unsuitable for kinetics studies because they tended to produce an amorphous by-product and addition to zeolite A. At excess alumina, the effect of changing caustic concentration could be interpreted in terms of mass transfer of some dissolved species from the bulk of the gel medium to the surface of the crystal. From the consideration of the effect of stoichiometry on growth rate, the diffusing species apears to contain two negative distribution of crystals showed a predominance of small particles. All observations are consistent with a diffusion mechanism of crystal growth.

TL;DR: In this article, single and binary metal molybdates, supported on silica (80 ¼wt% active phase/20 wt% SiO 2 ), having the formula A MoO 4, where A =Ni, Co, Mg, Mn, and/or Zn, and some ternary molybdate, were investigated for the oxydehydrogenation of propane to propylene, where the reaction is catalytic and is first order in propane disappearance, consistent with the abstraction of a methylene hydrogen being the rate limiting step

28 Aug 1990TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a bag of thermoplastic film material which includes a top wall and a bottom wall connected by first and second sidewalls and having an open end and a closed end.
Abstract: The present invention is a bag of thermoplastic film material which includes a top wall and a bottom wall connected by first and second sidewalls and having an open end and a closed end. The closed end includes an end gusset wherein there are two lateral edge heat seals. The lateral edge heat seals are formed by a four-fold gusset. The outer surface of one of the folds can be provided with a metallic surface whereas the outer surface of a mating fold in the gusset possesses a non-metallic surface. As a result of the present invention, a metallized end-fold gusset can be provided with a capability of heat sealing the lateral edges in the metallized area.
