Abstract: We review and revise phenomenology of the GeV-scale heavy neutral leptons (HNLs). We extend the previous analyses by including more channels of HNLs production and decay and provide with more refined treatment, including QCD corrections for the HNLs of masses $\mathcal{O}(1)$ GeV. We summarize the relevance of individual production and decay channels for different masses, resolving a few discrepancies in the literature. Our final results are directly suitable for sensitivity studies of particle physics experiments (ranging from proton beam-dump to the LHC) aiming at searches for heavy neutral leptons.

TL;DR: In this paper, a measurement of the complete set of angular coefficients A0−7 describing these distributions in the Z-boson Collins-Soper frame was presented, which correspond to 20.3 fb−1 of pp collisions at s=8 TeV, collected by the ATLAS detector at the CERN LHC.
Abstract: The angular distributions of Drell-Yan charged lepton pairs in the vicinity of the Z-boson mass peak probe the underlying QCD dynamics of Z-boson production. This paper presents a measurement of the complete set of angular coefficients A0−7 describing these distributions in the Z-boson Collins-Soper frame. The data analysed correspond to 20.3 fb−1 of pp collisions at s=8 TeV, collected by the ATLAS detector at the CERN LHC. The measurements are compared to the most precise fixed-order calculations currently available (O(αs2)) and with theoretical predictions embedded in Monte Carlo generators. The measurements are precise enough to probe QCD corrections beyond the formal accuracy of these calculations and to provide discrimination between different parton-shower models. A significant deviation from the (O(αs2)) predictions is observed for A0 − A2. Evidence is found for non-zero A5,6,7, consistent with expectations.[Figure not available: see fulltext.]

TL;DR: The Wiedemann-Franz law for the ratio of heat and charge conductances is found to be systematically violated away from the charge degeneracy points, and the observed deviation agrees well with the theoretical expectation.
Abstract: We report on combined measurements of heat and charge transport through a single-electron transistor. The device acts as a heat switch actuated by the voltage applied on the gate. The Wiedemann-Franz law for the ratio of heat and charge conductances is found to be systematically violated away from the charge degeneracy points. The observed deviation agrees well with the theoretical expectation. With a large temperature drop between the source and drain, the heat current away from degeneracy deviates from the standard quadratic dependence in the two temperatures.

TL;DR: In this article, a partial wave analysis of the p (p) over bar mass-threshold enhancement in the reaction J/psi -> gamma p over bar is used to determine its J(PC) quantum numbers to be 0(-+), its peak mass to be below threshold at M 1832(-5)(+19)(stat)(-17)(+18)(syst) +/- 19(model) MeV/c(2).
Abstract: A partial wave analysis of the p (p) over bar mass-threshold enhancement in the reaction J/psi -> gamma p (p) over bar is used to determine its J(PC) quantum numbers to be 0(-+), its peak mass to be below threshold at M 1832(-5)(+19)(stat)(-17)(+18)(syst) +/- 19(model) MeV/c(2), and its total width to be Gamma gamma X(p)]BR[X(p (p) over bar) -> p (p) over bar] = [9:0(-1.1)(+0.4)(stat)(-5.0)(+1:5)(syst) +/- 2: 3(model)] x 10(-5). A similar analysis performed on psi(3686) -> gamma p (p) over bar decays shows, for the first time, the presence of a corresponding enhancement with a production rate relative to that for J/psi decays of R = [5.08(-0.45)(+0: 71)(stat)(-058)(+0: 67) (syst) +/- 0: 12(model)%.

TL;DR: It was shown that full exchange of up to 23 labile acidic hydrogens with a minimal back exchange with the surrounding atmospheric water can be performed by this method.
Abstract: A simple method for hydrogen/deuterium exchange in a standard electrospray (ESI) ionization source is presented. In this method, a D₂O droplet is placed between the ESI needle and the entrance of the mass spectrometer and thus saturation of the atmosphere with deuterated vapor in the ESI region is achieved. It was shown that full exchange of up to 23 labile acidic hydrogens with a minimal back exchange with the surrounding atmospheric water can be performed by this method.
