Abstract: Several studies demonstrate the role of adipose mesenchymal stem cells (ASCs) in angiogenesis. The angiogenic mechanism has been ascribed to paracrine factors since these cells secrete a plenty of signal molecules and growth factors. Recently it has been suggested that besides soluble factors, extracellular vesicles (EVs) that include exosomes and microvesicles may play a major role in cell-to-cell communication. It has been shown that EVs are implicated in the angiogenic process. Herein we studied whether EVs released by ASCs may mediate the angiogenic activity of these cells. Our results demonstrated that ASC-derived EVs induced in vitro vessel-like structure formation by human microvascular endothelial cells (HMEC). EV-stimulated HMEC when injected subcutaneously within Matrigel in SCID mice formed vessels. Treatment of ASCs with platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) stimulated the secretion of EVs, changed their protein composition and enhanced the angiogenic potential. At variance of EVs released in basal conditions, PDGF-EVs carried c-kit and SCF that played a role in angiogenesis as specific blocking antibodies inhibited in vitro vessel-like structure formation. The enhanced content of matrix metalloproteinases in PDGF-EVs may also account for their angiogenic activity. Our findings indicate that EVs released by ASCs may contribute to the ASC-induced angiogenesis and suggest that PDGF may trigger the release of EVs with an enhanced angiogenic potential.

Abstract: This paper provides an overview of micro-services architecture and implementation patterns. It continues our series of publications about M2M systems, existing and upcoming system software platforms for M2M applications. A micro-service is a lightweight and independent service that performs single functions and collaborates with other similar services using a well-defined interface. We would like to discuss the common principles behind this approach, its advantages and disadvantages as well as its possible usage in M2M applications.

Abstract: We report here all inorganic CsPbI3 planar junction perovskite solar cells fabricated by thermal coevaporation of CsI and PbI2 precursors. The best devices delivered power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 9.3 to 10.5%, thus coming close to the reference MAPbI3-based devices (PCE ≈ 12%). These results emphasize that all inorganic lead halide perovskites can successfully compete in terms of photovoltaic performance with the most widely used hybrid materials such as MAPbI3.

Abstract: High-precision analyses of supersymmetry parameters aim at reconstructing the fundamental supersymmetric theory and its breaking mechanism. A well defined theoretical framework is needed when higher-order corrections are included. We propose such a scheme, Supersymmetry Parameter Analysis SPA, based on a consistent set of conventions and input parameters. A repository for computer programs is provided which connect parameters in different schemes and relate the Lagrangian parameters to physical observables at LHC and high energy e+e- linear collider experiments, i.e., masses, mixings, decay widths and production cross sections for supersymmetric particles. In addition, programs for calculating high-precision low energy observables, the density of cold dark matter (CDM) in the universe as well as the cross sections for CDM search experiments are included. The SPA scheme still requires extended efforts on both the theoretical and experimental side before data can be evaluated in the future at the level of the desired precision. We take here an initial step of testing the SPA scheme by applying the techniques involved to a specific supersymmetry reference point.

Abstract: A diagrammatic technique is developed to describe nonlocal effects (e.g., pseudogap formation) in the Hubbard-like models. In contrast to cluster approaches, this method utilizes an exact transition to the dual set of variables, and it therefore becomes possible to treat the irreducible vertices of an effective single-impurity problem as small parameters. This provides a very efficient interpolation between weak coupling (band) and atomic limits. The antiferromagnetic pseudogap formation in the Hubbard model is correctly reproduced by just the lowest-order diagrams.
