TL;DR: In this paper, an attempt has been made to optimize the selected input process parameters for material removal rate (MRR), average surface roughness (Ra), and average circularity (Ca) of the hole made by electrical discharge machining in a nickel-based superalloy material especially used in aerospace applications.
Abstract: In this article, an attempt has been made to optimize the selected input process parameters for material removal rate (MRR), average surface roughness (Ra) and average circularity (Ca) of the hole made by electrical discharge machining in a nickel-based superalloy material especially used in aerospace applications. The concept of twist drill is introduced by attaching a self-developed setup on sinking an electrical discharge machining machine by replacing the actual tool holder of the electrical discharge machining machine and terming it as electrical discharge drilling. Also application of an altogether new approach of hybrid methodology comprising the Taguchi methodology coupled with response surface methodology for modeling and response surface methodology coupled with principal component analysis–based grey relational analysis for multiobjective optimization of process parameters is used. In this application of hybrid methodology, at the first stage, optimum level of process parameters is determined b...

Abstract: Wind has been utilized as a source of power for many years. The generation of electrical energy from wind has experienced a remarkable pace in the past decade because of depleting conventional resources and increasing environmental issues. Wind energy conversion has become a reliable and competitive means for electric power generation, thanks to extensive Research and Development efforts in last 30 years. The life span of modern wind turbines is now 20–25 years, which is comparable to many other conventional power generation technologies. The average availability of commercial wind power plants is now around 98%. This paper reviews WECS system covering Aerodynamics, Mechanical and Electrical aspects.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of significant process parameters on hole characteristics such as hole circularity at top and bottom, hole taper, and spatter size have been studied and the optimum ranges of these parameters have been suggested on the basis of empirical modeling and optimization.
Abstract: Zirconia Toughened Alumina ceramic is widely used for aerospace components, combustion chambers, heat exchangers, bearings and pumps mainly due to its improved mechanical and thermal properties. To make holes in thick section Zirconia Toughened Alumina ceramics is a major challenge due to its unfavorable machining characteristics. Recent researches have explored that laser machining can overcome the machining limitations of advanced materials having improved mechanical properties. In present research, authors have analyzed the effect of Laser Trepan Drilling on hole characteristics of 6.0 mm thick Zirconia Toughened Alumina. Effect of significant process parameters on hole characteristics such as hole circularity at top and bottom, hole taper, and spatter size have been studied. The optimum ranges of these parameters have been suggested on the basis of empirical modeling and optimization.
