TL;DR: Although the application of the CRISPR/Cas9 system in filamentous fungi is still in its infancy compared to its common use in E. coli, yeasts, and mammals, the deep development of this system will certainly drive the exploitation of fungal diversity.
Abstract: In recent years, a variety of genetic tools have been developed and applied to various filamentous fungi, which are widely applied in agriculture and the food industry. However, the low efficiency of gene targeting has for many years hampered studies on functional genomics in this important group of microorganisms. The emergence of CRISPR/Cas9 genome-editing technology has sparked a revolution in genetic research due to its high efficiency, versatility, and easy operation and opened the door for the discovery and exploitation of many new natural products. Although the application of the CRISPR/Cas9 system in filamentous fungi is still in its infancy compared to its common use in E. coli, yeasts, and mammals, the deep development of this system will certainly drive the exploitation of fungal diversity. In this review, we summarize the research progress on CRISPR/Cas9 systems in filamentous fungi and finally highlight further prospects in this area.

TL;DR: The quasi-solid-state Li-ion capacitor is demonstrated with graphene nanosheets prepared by an electrochemical exfoliation as the positive electrode and the porous TiO2 hollow microspheres wrapped with the same graphene nanOSheets as the negative electrode, using aLi-ion conducting gel polymer electrolyte.
Abstract: The quasi-solid-state Li-ion capacitor is demonstrated with graphene nanosheets prepared by an electrochemical exfoliation as the positive electrode and the porous TiO2 hollow microspheres wrapped with the same graphene nanosheets as the negative electrode, using a Li-ion conducting gel polymer electrolyte. This device may be the key to bridging the gap between conventional lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors, meanwhile meeting the safety demands of electronic devices.

TL;DR: In this paper, a double perovskite NaGdMg(W, Mo)O6:Eu phosphor was obtained by an improved citrate-EDTA complexing method.
Abstract: A novel high-efficiency double perovskite NaGdMg(W, Mo)O6:Eu phosphor is obtained by an improved citrate–EDTA complexing method. An emission intensity over twenty times that of a commercial red phosphor is observed. The host material has high-efficiency absorption, high doping concentration for many rare earth ions and intense emission with different colors.

TL;DR: A triple-component composite derived from metal-organic frameworks, comprising FeS2, nitrogen-sulfur co-doped porous carbon, and reduced graphene oxide (FeS2@NSC/G), has been successfully synthesized and would present a promising thought for composites design, which could enhance high-rate electrochemical energy storage performances.
Abstract: Sodium-ion batteries suffer the disadvantages of poor rate performance and cycling stability due to its sluggish sodiation kinetics. A rational design strategy for both materials compositions and structures has been proposed to meet these challenges. Herein, a triple-component composite derived from metal–organic frameworks, comprising FeS2, nitrogen–sulfur co-doped porous carbon, and reduced graphene oxide (FeS2@NSC/G), has been successfully synthesized. With the capacities contributions from different sodium storage routes (diffusion-controlled processes and surface capacitive processes) at varies rate conditions, it is aiming to make full use of each component in the electrode composite and their unique porous structures. Expected electrode properties have been achieved and related electrochemical behaviors have also been investigated. The strategy would present a promising thought for composites design, which could enhance high-rate electrochemical energy storage performances.

TL;DR: Regular stibnite (Sb(2)S(3) nanorods with diameters of 20-40 nm and lengths of 220-350 nm have been successfully synthesized by a sonochemical method under ambient air from an ethanolic solution containing antimony trichloride and thioacetamide.
Abstract: Regular stibnite (Sb2S3) nanorods with diameters of 20−40 nm and lengths of 220−350 nm have been successfully synthesized by a sonochemical method under ambient air from an ethanolic solution containing antimony trichloride and thioacetamide. The as-prepared Sb2S3 nanorods are characterized by employing techniques including X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, transmission electron microscopy, selected area electron diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and optical diffuse reflection spectroscopy. Microstructural analysis reveals that the Sb2S3 nanorods crystallize in an orthorhombic structure and predominantly grow along the (001) crystalline plane. High-intensity ultrasound irradiation plays an important role in the formation of these Sb2S3 nanorods. The experimental results show that the sonochemical formation of stibnite nanorods can be divided into four steps in sequence: (1) ultrasound-in...
