Abstract: The practical application of graphene oxide (GO)/polymer composite membranes requires addressing the poor long-term stability caused by exfoliation of GO laminates from the substrate, solvent dissolution of the substrate and fouling by organic pollutants. This study describes the concurrent cross-linking of GO laminates, a polyimide substrate and their interface through a single filtration step with multifunctional triethylenetetramine (TETA). The new strategy features the following advantages: (1) the improved free volume and tunable charge characteristic of GO laminates lead to higher acetonitrile permeance with precise molecular sieving properties over state-of-art organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) membranes; (2) the covalent bonding formed at the GO/polyimide interface and polyimide substrate endows the membrane with significantly enhanced stability in harsh environments; (3) the photocatalytic properties hold great potential for fouling reduction and dye decolorization.

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple strategy for facile generation of highquantum yield robust yellow photoluminescent (PL) carbon dots (CDs) doped with zinc ions was demonstrated.
Abstract: We demonstrated a simple strategy for facile generation of high-quantum yield robust yellow photoluminescent (PL) carbon dots (CDs) doped with zinc ions. These as-synthesized CDs when synthesized using zinc ions and citric acid as the precursor via a one-pot solvothermal method produced zinc ion-doped CDs that yielded excitation-independent yellow PL emission and the highest QY reported to date of 51.2%. We also thoroughly discuss the formation mechanism of these CDs, whose high quality was attributed to the radiative recombination of electrons and holes trapped on the CD surface. We also showed the ability to find practical applications of these as-prepared CDs, such as for bifunctional photonic crystal films and for fluorescent microfibers and patterns.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used metal organic frameworks formed by Cu and trimesic acid to construct porous composites with adjustable composition and various morphologies, including cube, octahedron, rod and wire.
Abstract: CuO/Cu2O porous composites with adjustable composition and various morphologies, including cube, octahedron, rod and wire, have been successfully achieved. These structures are inherited from metal organic frameworks formed by Cu and trimesic acid and can be regulated under mild conditions. While tested in CO oxidation, these porous composites exhibited a high performance.
