TL;DR: The Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson hypothesis is tested against several alternative spin scenarios, including non-SM spin-0 and spin-2 models with universal and non-universal couplings to fermions and vector bosons, and the observed distributions of variables sensitive to the non- SM tensor couplings are compatible with the SM predictions.
Abstract: Studies of the spin, parity and tensor couplings of the Higgs boson in the [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] decay processes at the LHC are presented. The investigations are based on [Formula: see text] of pp collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment at [Formula: see text] TeV and [Formula: see text] TeV. The Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson hypothesis, corresponding to the quantum numbers [Formula: see text], is tested against several alternative spin scenarios, including non-SM spin-0 and spin-2 models with universal and non-universal couplings to fermions and vector bosons. All tested alternative models are excluded in favour of the SM Higgs boson hypothesis at more than 99.9 % confidence level. Using the [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] decays, the tensor structure of the interaction between the spin-0 boson and the SM vector bosons is also investigated. The observed distributions of variables sensitive to the non-SM tensor couplings are compatible with the SM predictions and constraints on the non-SM couplings are derived.

TL;DR: Greatly enhanced ECL of CdS thin films by gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) for ultrasensitive detection of thrombin is reported and enhancement in combination with smart recognition of aptamer and target protein allowed us to construct an ultrasensitive aptasensor for attomolar detection ofThrombin.
Abstract: Interactions between surface plasmons (SP) of metallic surfaces and photoluminescence (PL) of semiconductor nanocrystal (S-NC) surfaces have been extensively investigated, and SP-induced PL enhancement has been used as a sensitive analytical technique. However, this SP induced electrochemiluminescence (ECL) enhancement is rarely studied. In this work, we report greatly enhanced ECL of CdS thin films by gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) for ultrasensitive detection of thrombin. The system was composed of a CdS NC film on glassy carbon electrode (GCE) as ECL emitter attached an aptamer of thrombin. Then, ssDNA–AuNP conjugates hybridized with the aptamer to form a separation length of ca. 12 nm between CdS NCs and Au NPs. The system showed 5-fold enhancement of ECL intensity as compared to that without Au NPs, which might be attributed to the long-distance interaction between the S-NCs and SPR field of noble metal nanoparticles (MNPs).We also found that the enhanced ECL could be influenced by the involving factors...

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive NH3 emissions inventories were compiled for China for 1980-2012, and the two major contributors were livestock manure and synthetic fertilizer application, which contributed 80-90 % of the total emissions.
Abstract: . Ammonia (NH3) can interact in the atmosphere with other trace chemical species, which can lead to detrimental environmental consequences, such as the formation of fine particulates and ultimately global climate change. China is a major agricultural country, and livestock numbers and nitrogen fertilizer use have increased drastically since 1978, following the rapid economic and industrial development experienced by the country. In this study, comprehensive NH3 emissions inventories were compiled for China for 1980–2012. In a previous study, we parameterized emissions factors (EFs) considering ambient temperature, soil acidity, and the method and rate of fertilizer application. In this study, we refined these EFs by adding the effects of wind speed and new data from field experiments of NH3 flux in cropland in northern China. We found that total NH3 emissions in China increased from 5.9 to 11.1 Tg from 1980 to 1996, and then decreased to 9.7 Tg in 2012. The two major contributors were livestock manure and synthetic fertilizer application, which contributed 80–90 % of the total emissions. Emissions from livestock manure rose from 2.86 Tg (1980) to 6.16 Tg (2005), and then decreased to 5.0 Tg (2012); beef cattle were the largest source followed by laying hens and pigs. The remarkable downward trend in livestock emissions that occurred in 2007 was attributed to a decrease in the numbers of various livestock animals, including beef cattle, goats, and sheep. Meanwhile, emissions from synthetic fertilizer ranged from 2.1 Tg (1980) to 4.7 Tg (1996), and then declined to 2.8 Tg (2012). Urea and ammonium bicarbonate (ABC) dominated this category of emissions, and a decline in ABC application led to the decrease in emissions that took place from the mid-1990s onwards. High emissions were concentrated in eastern and southwestern China. Seasonally, peak NH3 emissions occurred in spring and summer. The inventories had a monthly temporal resolution and a spatial resolution of 1000 m, and thus are suitable for global and regional air-quality modeling.

TL;DR: A dual-wavelength ratiometric ECL-RET system based on resonance energy transfer from graphite-like carbon nitride nanosheet to Ru(bpy)3(2+) for sensitive detection of micro RNA and exhibits potential capability in the detection of nucleic acids.
Abstract: Here, a dual-wavelength ratiometric electrochemiluminescence (ECL) approach is reported based on resonance energy transfer (RET) from graphite-like carbon nitride nanosheet (g-C3N4 NS) to Ru(bpy)32+ for sensitive detection of microRNA (miRNA). In this approach, Au nanoparticles (Au NPs) functionalized g-C3N4 NS nanohybrid (Au-g-C3N4 NH) coated on glassy carbon electrode (GCE) could exhibit strong and stable ECL emissions with emission peak centered at 460 nm. The ECL emission at such wavelength matched well with the absorption peak of Ru(bpy)32+ as well as impeccably stimulating the emission of Ru(bpy)32+ at the wavelength of 620 nm, producing ECL-RET with high efficiency. Thus, based on the ECL signals quenching at 460 nm and increasing at 620 nm, a dual-wavelength ratiometric ECL-RET system was achieved. This system was then utilized for determination of target miRNA. With the attachment of thiol-modified molecular beacon on Au-g-C3N4 NH, target miRNA hybridized with the molecular beacon to form a DNA-R...

TL;DR: Camrelizumab combined with apatinib showed promising efficacy and manageable safety in patients with advanced HCC in both the first-line and second-line setting, and might represent a novel treatment option for these patients.
Abstract: Purpose: We assessed the efficacy and safety of camrelizumab [an anti-programmed death (PD-1) mAb] plus apatinib (a VEGFR-2 tyrosine kinase inhibitor) in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Patients and Methods: This nonrandomized, open-label, multicenter, phase II study enrolled patients with advanced HCC who were treatment-naive or refractory/intolerant to first-line targeted therapy. Patients received intravenous camrelizumab 200 mg (for bodyweight ≥50 kg) or 3 mg/kg (for bodyweight Results: Seventy patients in the first-line setting and 120 patients in the second-line setting were enrolled. As of January 10, 2020, the ORR was 34.3% [24/70; 95% confidence interval (CI), 23.3–46.6] in the first-line and 22.5% (27/120; 95% CI, 15.4–31.0) in the second-line cohort per IRC. Median progression-free survival in both cohorts was 5.7 months (95% CI, 5.4–7.4) and 5.5 months (95% CI, 3.7–5.6), respectively. The 12-month survival rate was 74.7% (95% CI, 62.5–83.5) and 68.2% (95% CI, 59.0–75.7), respectively. Grade ≥3 treatment-related adverse events (TRAE) were reported in 147 (77.4%) of 190 patients, with the most common being hypertension (34.2%). Serious TRAEs occurred in 55 (28.9%) patients. Two (1.1%) treatment-related deaths occurred. Conclusions: Camrelizumab combined with apatinib showed promising efficacy and manageable safety in patients with advanced HCC in both the first-line and second-line setting. It might represent a novel treatment option for these patients. See related commentary by Pinato et al., p. 908
