TL;DR: The first simultaneous real-time measurements of aerosol composition at two different heights at the same location in urban Beijing from December 19, 2013 to January 2, 2014 illustrated a complex interaction between vertical mixing processes and local source emissions on aerosol chemistry in the atmospheric boundary layer.
Abstract: Despite extensive efforts into the characterization of air pollution during the past decade, real-time characterization of aerosol particle composition above the urban canopy in the megacity Beijing has never been performed to date. Here we conducted the first simultaneous real-time measurements of aerosol composition at two different heights at the same location in urban Beijing from December 19, 2013 to January 2, 2014. The nonrefractory submicron aerosol (NR-PM1) species were measured in situ by a high-resolution aerosol mass spectrometer at near-ground level and an aerosol chemical speciation monitor at 260 m on a 325 m meteorological tower in Beijing. Secondary aerosol showed similar temporal variations between ground level and 260 m, whereas much weaker correlations were found for the primary aerosol. The diurnal evolution of the ratios and correlations of aerosol species between 260 m and the ground level further illustrated a complex interaction between vertical mixing processes and local source emissions on aerosol chemistry in the atmospheric boundary layer. As a result, the aerosol compositions at the two heights were substantially different. Organic aerosol (OA), mainly composed of primary OA (62%), at the ground level showed a higher contribution to NR-PM1 (65%) than at 260 m (54%), whereas a higher concentration and contribution (15%) of nitrate was observed at 260 m, probably due to the favorable gas-particle partitioning under lower temperature conditions. In addition, two different boundary layer structures were observed, each interacting differently with the evolution processes of aerosol chemistry.

TL;DR: The proposed two-factor authentication scheme for health-care with WMSNs is vulnerable to the off-line guessing attack, the user impersonation attack, and the sensor node capture attack, but an improved scheme is presented to overcome the disadvantages.
Abstract: Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are fast developed and widely used in many applications. One of the most important applications is wireless medical sensor network (WMSN) which makes modern health-care more popular. The doctor can get the patient's physiological data collected by special sensors deployed on or in the patient's body in real time with the mobile devices via the wireless communication channel. The collected data are important and should be confidential. So security measures are considered in the process of communication. Recently, He et al. (Multimed Syst, 21(1), 49---60, 2015) proposed a new two-factor authentication scheme for health-care with WMSNs and claimed it to be secure. But we find that it is vulnerable to the off-line guessing attack, the user impersonation attack, and the sensor node capture attack. Moreover, we present an improved scheme to overcome the disadvantages. Through the formal verification with Proverif and the analysis presented by us, our scheme is secure. It is more practical for applications through the comparison between some recent schemes for WMSNs.

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of fog field experiments and their major results relating to fog mechanisms, physical properties and chemical characteristics is presented, and the effects of urbanization and industrialization on fog are highlighted.
Abstract: Fog can adversely affect human activity directly and indirectly, resulting in large losses both in terms of the local economy and lives. Much effort has been devoted to studies of fog across many areas of China, and in that context this paper aims to summarize climatic characteristics and review fog field experiments and their major results relating to fog mechanisms, physical properties and chemical characteristics. Progress in the application of remote sensing techniques and numerical simulation in fog research are also discussed. In particular, the effects of urbanization and industrialization on fog are highlighted. To end, perspectives on future fog research are outlined. The goal of this review paper is to introduce fog research in China to the global academic community and thus promote international collaboration on fog research. This is important because most papers on fog in China are published in Chinese, which are unreadable for the vast majority of non-Chinese researchers.

TL;DR: A robust dynamic multi-objective vehicle routing method with two-phase results indicated that the routes obtained by the proposed method have better stability and robustness, but may be sub-optimum, while time-consuming global vehicle routing optimization is avoided as dynamic customers appear.
Abstract: For dynamic multi-objective vehicle routing problems, the waiting time of vehicle, the number of serving vehicles, and the total distance of routes were normally considered as the optimization objectives. Except for the above objectives, fuel consumption that leads to the environmental pollution and energy consumption was focused on in this paper. Considering the vehicles’ load and the driving distance, a corresponding carbon emission model was built and set as an optimization objective. Dynamic multi-objective vehicle routing problems with hard time windows and randomly appeared dynamic customers, subsequently, were modeled. In existing planning methods, when the new service demand came up, global vehicle routing optimization method was triggered to find the optimal routes for non-served customers, which was time-consuming. Therefore, a robust dynamic multi-objective vehicle routing method with two-phase is proposed . Three highlights of the novel method are: (i) After finding optimal robust virtual routes for all customers by adopting multi-objective particle swarm optimization in the first phase, static vehicle routes for static customers are formed by removing all dynamic customers from robust virtual routes in next phase. (ii) The dynamically appeared customers append to be served according to their service time and the vehicles’ statues. Global vehicle routing optimization is triggered only when no suitable locations can be found for dynamic customers. (iii) A metric measuring the algorithms robustness is given. The statistical results indicated that the routes obtained by the proposed method have better stability and robustness, but may be sub-optimum. Moreover, time-consuming global vehicle routing optimization is avoided as dynamic customers appear.
