TL;DR: Yolk-shell Co/C nanoreactors are facilely synthesized via pyrolysis of controllably etched ZIF-67 by tannic acid and their degradation performance on multiple pollutants is demonstrated, providing a possible way to selectively remove target contaminant from multiple pollutants in complex water system.
Abstract: Selective removal of organic pollutants from surface water with high efficiency is crucial in water purification. Here, yolk-shell Co/C nanoreactors (YSCCNs) are facilely synthesized via pyrolysis of controllably etched ZIF-67 by tannic acid, and their degradation performance on multiple pollutants is demonstrated. To present the structure-performance relationship between the designed nanocatalyst and the selective removal of organic pollutants, bisphenol A (BPA) was selected as the targeted pollutant with coexistence of humus acid (HA). For comparison, solid and hollow ZIF-67 derived Co/C nanoparticles denoted as SCCNs and HCCNs, were also tested. The results show that YSCCNs exhibit enhanced BPA degradation rate of 0.32 min-1, which is 23.1% and 45.4% higher than that of HCCNs and SCCNs in HA (10 ppm) system. The essential improvement can be ascribed to the synergetic effects from shell layer (size-exclusion) and core/shell (confinement effect). The degradation mechanism and pathway are further confirmed by radical quenching experiments and liquid chromatography-mass spectrograph (LC-MS), respectively. In addition, some influential factors, including reaction temperature, pH value, and peroxymonosulfate (PMS) dosage are investigated in detail. This work provides a possible way to selectively remove target contaminant from multiple pollutants in complex water system.

TL;DR: In this article, a planar ultrawideband (UWB) antenna with dual notched bands is proposed and investigated, where a T-shaped stub embedded in the square slot of the radiation patch and a pair of U-shaped parasitic strips beside the feed line is used.
Abstract: A novel planar ultrawideband (UWB) antenna with dual notched bands is proposed and investigated. The antenna consists of a square patch and a modified grounded plane. To realize dual notched bands characteristics, a T-shaped stub embedded in the square slot of the radiation patch and a pair of U-shaped parasitic strips beside the feed line is used. The advantage of this antenna is the high rejection level in the stopband. The measured results show that the proposed dual-notched-bands planar antenna shows a very wide bandwidth from 2.8 to 11.0 GHz defined by voltage standing wave ratio VSWR <; 2, with two notched bands of 3.3-4.0 GHz (WiMAX band) and 5.05-5.90 GHz (WLAN band), respectively. Both the experimental and simulated results of the proposed antenna are presented, indicating that the antenna is a good candidate for various UWB applications.

TL;DR: Sufficient conditions for the existence of the desired controllers are given in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI) when this LMI is feasible, and the expected memoryless state feedback controllers can be easily constructed via convex optimization.
Abstract: This note is concerned with the H/sub /spl infin// and positive-real control problems for linear neutral delay systems. The purpose of H/sub /spl infin// control is the design of a memoryless state feedback controller which stabilizes the neutral delay system and reduces the H/sub /spl infin// norm of the closed-loop transfer function from the disturbance to the controlled output to a prescribed level, while the purpose of positive-real control is to design a memoryless state feedback controller such that the resulting closed-loop system is stable and the closed-loop transfer function is extended strictly positive real. Sufficient conditions for the existence of the desired controllers are given in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI). When this LMI is feasible, the expected memoryless state feedback controllers can be easily constructed via convex optimization.

TL;DR: In this paper, a memristor based oscillator is presented, which generates a steady periodic orbit and has a transition from transient chaotic to steady periodic behaviour, but the complicated dynamical behaviour is extremely dependent on the initial condition of the Memristor.
Abstract: By replacing Chua's diode in the canonical Chua's oscillator with a smooth flux-controlled memristor, a memristor based oscillator is presented. The memristor oscillator generates a steady periodic orbit and has a transition from transient chaotic to steady periodic behaviour. The complicated dynamical behaviour is extremely dependent on the initial condition of the memristor.
